Elegant villa
The hotel is a sympathetically converted stone villa with a contrasting, very modern, glass restaurant, heated by a wood burning stove, set in the grounds. We ate both a main meal and pizzas in the restaurant and very much enjoyed both. There are very many good restaurants to choose from nearby, yet we noted Italians, who were not staying at the hotel, chose to eat there. We stayed seven days in the best suite, a bedroom and sitting room furnished with antique Italian furniture, including a beautiful black lacquer bed decorated with mother of pearl, both rooms with decorated stone floors, and an en suite shower room. The shuttered rooms looked out over a patio and the surrounding countryside. Adjoining the suite was a central breakfast room. Breakfast was freshly made croissants, some of the best I have eaten anywhere, and sweet tarts, with a selection of cheeses and prosciutto and coffee or tea made to your liking by the receptionist. There is a small comfortable sitting room furnished with literature about the area and quality Ciomod products, such as their chocolates or liqueurs, for sale at the reception desk. Either G or T were there mornings and evenings to give a very personal, friendly service and provide us with information about events in the surrounding area. The level of service, furnishings and decoration
have been carefully considered and are well maintained. We had a hugely relaxing stay and were very reluctant to leave.
