Cozy Cabin on the Lake

Access all the Keweenaw Peninsula has to offer from this quiet inland lakefront property on Lake Bailey. Whether it's a day trip along the shores of Lake Superior, a hike up Mt Baldy, skiing the slopes of Mt Bohemia, mountain biking in Copper Harbor or riding the snowmobile and ATV trails, this is the perfect location for your home away from home.
As soon as you pull into the circle driveway, you can let the stress of the world fade away. Enjoy the tranquility of this property with its natural landscape, frequent wildlife and fantastic views through the floor to ceiling windows in the vaulted Living Room, from the Kitchen/Dining Area, wrap around deck or off the dock.
Main floor has an open concept floorplan, complete with Living Room (futon), Kitchen/Dining Area, Bedroom (full) and full Bath. Master suite (queen) is located in the open Loft with its own full Bath. Lower level includes a Family Room/TV area, additional sleeping options (full) and walk out to ground level lakeside. All linens (towels & sheets) are provided. Kitchen has gas cooktop, oven, microwave and refrigerator, plus some basics.
Lake Bailey is a shallow 205 acre lake with an island. Lake is suitable for fishing, kayaking or canoeing. Public boat access at the north end of the lake. Perch and Northern Pike can be found in Lake Bailey.
In the evening, sit around the bonfire, roast some marshmallows and listen to the sounds of nature. Home does not currently offer WiFi to allow for you to decompress, relax and appreciate what is all around you.

Great for family visits bringing puppers
We had 2 adults, 4 teenagers, and 2 dogs and had a GREAT stay. The house was huge with plenty of rooms and beds. The kitchen was big with plenty of room and lots of staples. The grounds were perfect and it was extremely convenient to be able to bring our 2 dogs with. We had a great stay, even though we ended up not seeing the northern lights. I would definitely recommend this house for anybody traveling with pets and/or family.

Beautiful property
Everything was exactly as described. The host was amazing. We had an issue with the heat on the basement and she came over right when we were able to call and brought a space heater. The only thing I wish they had was a landline phone or something. When we discovered the heat didn't work on Wednesday night we were unable to contact the host until Thursday when we went into town. A landline would have made it so we could contact the host right away about the heat. I'm ok with no Wi-Fi but to not be able to call the host or heaven forbid 911 is a little dangerous.

Great property!
Dara was a lovely and communicative host. The property was perfect for me, my husband and our pup. Centrally located to all the area attractions. It was our first visit to the UP, and after an amazing trip, it certainly wont be our last! And hopefully we can stay at Dara's again next time, too! For all the negative comments - just a reminder that you are staying in a remote part of the country, on a wooded lot, and in a dog-friendly property.

We had a wonderful stay at this property. It's very well taken care of and has all you would need. We enjoyed the fire pit and being able to sit outside and see Lake Bailey. A wonderful lakeside getaway
Our time at the lake cottage was relaxing and fun. The view is amazing and the quiet was exactly what we craved. The kids especially enjoyed the bonfire at night, using the paddleboat to explore the calm lake, and fishing off the dock. We hope to schedule a return trip soon!

Great place for a long friends weekend
We spent 4 lovely days at the cabin with our friends group of 6 and our dogs. The cabin is the perfect place to be close to biking in copper harbor, rock climbing along Cliff Drive, and go for morning swims at the Eagle Harbor beach. We so very much enjoyed the house layout with 3 separate sleeping areas and a great kitchen for cooking meals and eating on the porch. The view from the house onto Lake Bailey was a great way to welcome the morning and say goodbye to each evening. Highly recommend for a group of friends to enjoy the Copper Country!

I can definatley say we wont be back, no drinking cups, no washcloths, stained towels, ice maker doesnt work, had 1 ice tray, I bought another and cups for the next guest,2 mornings we woke up to the kitchen flooded in front of the refrigetstor, no guest laundry. Big problem with ants in the dining & living area and no propane for grill. Also the pressure tank is bad for the well, the water flow surged the whole time we were there, Im really surprised it hasnt burnt the well up. Long black dog hairs everywhere.

Beautiful setting
This property is set among pines, cedars, and birches on the shores of Bailey Lake. The wraparound porch and plentiful windows bring nature right to you. I particularly liked being able to see the pines, lake and boat deck while I was cooking. The house is comfortable and perfect for families. The photos provided are accurate depictions. There are plentiful games and DVDs for the whole family. Indoor gathering spaces are roomy. There are many roadside parks, trails and beaches nearby. The nearest large grocery store is approx. 30 minutes by car in Calumet. Smaller food stores are closer for quick pickups. A large dog kennel and a dog water vest are provided by the host. We spent a VERY active and happy week here!

This property is exactly as stated online. Right on the lake. We had a great time and it was nice to get away and unplug. Absolutely no cell service but it was nice to not be on phone. Highly recommend

Perfect family vacation
This property was better than expected!! We had a great time fishing, kayaking, and enjoying the scenery and the surrounding area. Cabin was very clean and has all the basic essentials needed. Caught a lot of northern in the lake and enjoyed the beautiful view from the deck and cabin.

Perfect family getaway!
The home had plenty of space for our 2 families to spread out. The large windows provide a beautiful view of the lake and wildlife, even in winter. The rocking chairs are a great spot for drinking your morning coffee and watching the deer. The kitchen was well equipped and perfect for making large family meals. The location is great, quiet and secluded but only a few miles from Copper Harbor and not too far from Houghton/Hancock. It was a great place to relax, unplug, and spend time with family!
