Disappointing Experience - Service Needs Improvement**
I recently stayed at Jewel Paradise Cove, and unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. One of the most frustrating aspects was how difficult it was to get bottled water. The staff didn’t restock the fridge in the room regularly, and when asked, it took a long time to receive any.
Service at the bar was also disappointing. If you're not tipping generously, expect to be overlooked. As a Jamaican myself, I felt that the treatment towards locals was noticeably different; it felt like our money wasn’t valued the same as other guests'.
The food was decent, but be warned—prepare for an upset stomach. It seems like a lot of tap water is used in preparation, which can be harsh on the immune system for those not accustomed to it.
On the positive side, the resort does offer a calm and chill atmosphere, perfect for those looking to unwind. The seaside jerk hut is definitely a highlight and a must-try.
Overall, while the resort has some good points, the service and issues with food safety are major drawbacks that need to be addressed.
