With one of the best views from any tent on the property, you get a spectacular view of the La Sal Mountains. While these can be seen anywhere on the glampground, you are front row and center to the magic. These mountains are home to Mount Peale which is the 2nd tallest peak in Utah.
Glamping Canyonlands is an off grid property that provides the comfort and ease of a traditional hotel. We have some of the best dark skies in the country so stargazing is a guest favorite. It's hard to find a place better to see clearer stars and the Milky Way on most nights. We have built a place for you to relax, a base camp for your Utah National Park adventures, unwind and have space to enjoy nature and breath.
We have four bell tents, one 16x24 ft canvas wall tent and one pod. Tents are furnished with a comfortable queen bed fitted with linens, extra blankets, seating for two, area rugs, string lights, board games, phone charging pack, 2 deck chairs, private firepit with grill top, shaded hammocks and a picnic table. Communal areas are 3 bathrooms (one with a glass roof), outdoor kitchen and sauna. Free coffee delivered, optional breakfast and strong WIFI. Astronomy tours and massages available (extra cost).
*Safari Tent has a king bed, wood burning stove, table and art supplies.
The closest tent neighbor you will have is approximately 50 yards away.

FIREWOOD & EXTRAS
We sell firewood, propane tanks, fire starters, hand warmers, smores kits, alcohol and breakfast. All these MUST be purchased during open hours, 9am- 7pm. We do not sell these items after 7pm or before 9am.

COMMUNAL BATHROOMS
The modern and clean bathroom facilities are well maintained and a 1-2 min walk from all accommodations. We have 1 full bathroom, 1 toilet room, 1 shower room and 1 seasonal glass roof barrel full bathroom (closed during freezing temps)
We provide hot water, flushing toilets, towels, hand towels, toilet paper and organic bath amenities. Lockers available to store your supplies.
COMMUNAL KITCHEN
We have a fully stocked kitchen for you to prepare meals.
The kitchen has a stove, flat top grill, bbq box, pizza oven camp chef oven, pots, pans, sink with washing up soap and hot water, plates, cups, seasonings, oil, refrigerator and more.
We do have coolers for you to borrow. WE DO NOT SELL ICE.
*The grocery store in Monticello (Blue Mountain Foods) is closed on Sundays.

-There is no insulation inside the accommodations so whatever the temperature is outside, it will be inside as well.

BRING ICE, we do not sell ice. ~Propane Heater. Bring 1lb propane tank or we sell them here (1 tank lasts approx 2 hrs on high, 5 hrs on low. These won't heat the space like at home but helps to take the chill out.
OTHER HELPFUL INFORMATION
WEATHER - We are located in Dry Valley. You will not find this on any map or weather app. Monticello, UT is the closest town with weather service and sits at 7000 feet above sea level. Moab, UT is the second town worth looking at, but sits at 4000 feet. The glampground sits at 6000 feet. Typically we are 3-5 degrees warmer than Monticello and 6-10 degrees cooler than Moab.
WIFI - Strong Wifi is available around the communal spaces. The Pod, Mountain Tent and Mesa Tent typically gets good Wifi but the others are too far to reach.
SAUNA – Available to our guests for $5.00 a session. You can make an appointment when you arrive.
WATER - We haul 400 gallons of water at a time so we ask everyone is water smart. Plus, this is a desert where we should be consider anyways.
ELECTRICITY - The only unit that has electricity is The Skylight Casita. All tents and Cedar Pod DO NOT have electricity. We provide battery packs to charge your phone and solar string lights. The bathrooms and kitchen do not have outlets. There is solar power to run these buildings but not to run any personal appliances. We have limited Jackery Power Stations to rent to run a laptop and a CPAP. We have a VERY limited supply so if you are interested in one, please email us. There is no guarantee we will have one available. They rent between $25-$50 per day (depending on the size of the unit).
FIRES - The only fires allowed on the glampsite are campfires. No smoking of any kind allowed. However, we do allow smoking in the parking lot or in your vehicle.
*If there is a county fire band, no fires will be allowed. You may reach out to ask if there is one.
PETS – No pets allowed.
HEATING/COOLING – Each tent has a small portable heater but you will need to bring 1lb propane tanks. We do sell them if you do not bring any with you. 1 tank lasts around 2 hours on high or 5 hours on low. We provide duck down comforters and extra blankets so once you are in bed, you will be warm. Rarely does anyone complain about being cold while sleeping. There is no AC but we do provide small fans in the summer (June-Aug).
COMING SOON, THE SKYLIGHT CASITA will have solar power and will have an AC unit. This unit will have outlets, lights, a kettle and a mini fridge.
COMPLEMENTARY COFFEE/TEA DELIVERY – Coffee and tea delivery service every morning free of charge when requested.
BREAKFAST, ALCOHOL AND SNACKS – Available for purchase between 9am-7pm daily.
LIMITED LIGHTING - To help preserve our night sky, we do not have a lot of lighting around the glampsite. A headlamp or flashlight when first arriving will help find your way. Once here, there is a lantern inside your tent and solar pathway lights.
QUIET HOURS - 10:00pm - 6:00am.
ANIMALS – We have 2 14 year old dogs (Crow and Raven) and free-range chickens. They may come greet you or follow you to your accommodation.
WALKING PATH - We have 22 acres and 1/2 of the property is untouched and are surrounded by State Trust Lands and BLM. These lands are welcomed to be explored.
TOURS/ACTIVITIES – We are always on the lookout for local activities and tours. Please find our current offerings on our website or on our tour board upon arrival.
TUBES – These are available June-Aug. There are 3 lakes in the Abajo Mountains and 1 large Reservoir in Blanding, all within a 30 min drive. Tubes are available at no cost.
ASTRONOMY TOURS - Twice a month a local astronomy comes to the glamping site with an amazing telescope. You will learn about constellations, planets, dead stars and much more. Paid event. Tickets can be purchased on our website.
SUGGESTED PACKING ITEMS – Slippers, warm socks and beanies as desert nights are chilly. Check our Visitor Guide on our website for more suggestions.
Stargazing - Bring a telescope if you have one as the night sky is one of the best features of this property! No obstructions so you will have clear views of the brilliant sky. We recommend downloading The SkyView Lite app and The Moon app. This will help you determine a full night of stars or the moon cycle (weather permitting).
There is usually highway noise but around 11pm, it slows down.
THINGS TO DO ON PROPERTY: Lay in the hammocks, take a sauna, astronomy tour, nature walk, stargaze, play board games, grill.
THINGS TO DO NEARBY: Visit Arches and Canyonlands National Park, visit the nearby lakes and reservoirs (borrow our tubes), fish, mountain bike (rentals coming soon), scenic drive, hiking, many local tours.
We are Keshia and Erik and we own Glamping Canyonlands. We live and run our business here so you will see us delivering coffee, cleaning, building or relaxing here. Our place is rustic and simple at the moment. We are a new business opened October 2020) and as we grow, we will be improving. We will always be working on the property to improve your experience. Most of our guests don't need us (other than having great conversation) but we are never far away!
