Affordable hostel in Montreal
The bed and the shower were good. Danny was helpful with the check in. The hostel needs some repairs, but the bedroom three was good. Dulce, the manager, is an OK person. I was surprised with the check in process, but overall everything was OK for a two night stay.

The property was unsafe (front door had been broken by a guest previously and hadn't been fixed), crowded and understaffed. Very few locks on the property overall, management of the property in the owner's absence was left to a friend of the owner who, although friendly, was not present when a argument came up between guests overnight. No common areas, almost felt like living in a slum home, piles of random objects every where made the narrow corridors even narrower. Sheets and floors were clean, but bathrooms were quite minimally cleaned and claustrophobic overall.

As advertised.
You have to understand that this is as minimalist as you can get. Keeping that in mind, you need to have a tolerance for being in close quarters with strangers, more so perhaps than in many youth hostels.

Hostal in the center , near everything...and cheap
Centrally-located place but unfinished 10%...like running AC Duct on the Ceiling but uncovered...work-in-process..Nice staff..nice kitchen..the roof terrace is a mess..used as a dump for old tiles..stuff like that.

Go elsewhere!
Avoid this place! Dangerous wiring in the kitchen. Kitchen is also filthy; cook/eat there at your own risk. Owner appears to be milking it until it burns or crumbles. If you're driving, this is false economy. Spent almost as much on parking as for the room.
Dangerous workaround to nonfunctional kitchen outlets.
Constant condition in kitchen.
