THE LOCATION Beautifully situated on a quiet inlet just 10 miles west of the Hulls Cove Visitors Center at Acadia National Park, this cottage is ideal for exploring Maine’s natural landscape. Enjoy waterfront activities on the Narrows and at various lakes across the island. Or hike on a myriad of trails in the park. Drive 13.5 miles to discover a plethora of dining and shopping options in downtown Bar Harbor. Soak up the sun on Sand Beach (20 miles). Watch for wildlife, including seals, otters, and a variety of New England sea birds.
Mount Desert Isle offers an endless array of activities for everyone. Some of the things to do in Acadia National Park include: a visit to Sand Beach, Thunder Hole and Otter Cliff. A drive up Cadillac Mountain for sunrise or sunset and a bike ride past the The Bubbles and high tea and popovers at Jordon Pond House. Tour the stunning gardens at Asticou or take a boat ride out of Northeast Harbor. Take a Glider or Bi-Plane Ride over the Park out of the Hancock Bar Harbor Airport in Trenton for some great perspective on Mount Desert Isle.

Secluded property with great view
Property was very clean, amazing views and lots of wildlife to watch. Property manager was very communicative and property was well stocked. A little further out from bar harbor and Acadia that we normally stay but view was well worth it.

This Maine cottage has everything you need for a quiet stay on the Southwest Harbor side of Acadia National park - only 15 minutes away. Kitchen is well equipped. Cove that it is on is quiet. Would definitely come back again.

Loved the Location
Beautiful & private location on the edge of an inlet. Views of the water awesome from the large deck. Property had everything we needed. The drive to & from the park was easy & it was nice to be on the less crowded side of the island. Only negative comment was that the double bed is starting to get a bit soft, thought it didn't bother us much. Would definitely rent it gain.

Noonie's Nest was exactly what we were looking for and expected: - Location on the quiet side of the island, but easy drive to everything - Comfortable cottage and quiet to relax after hiking - Great view of water and birds - Great amenities, including reading lamps and USB outlets (on lamps in bedrooms). Will recommend to others! Thank you.

A lovely spot with a few oddities
In general, we were quite happy with this rental. The location couldn’t have been better for the wedding we were attending less than a mile down the road, and there was plenty of space for two couples and a 3.5 year old with a small dog. Check in was super easy, if a little confusing because of the multiple platforms between VRBO and the private company, but we figured it out. There were nice touches with fresh boxes of dish detergent and soaps etc, and the kitchen was well appointed with every appliance you could ask for. Three small things to note: 1. The house is at the end of a shared driveway. There is a garage you have to pass directly in front of, where someone presumably lives (we saw cars but no people), so it felt a little less private and like we were shining our headlights into their space and making noise every time we came and went. 2. The bathroom was carpeted, which is arguably soft and warm for cool winter months but otherwise just weird and unsanitary in my opinion. You can be the judge of that. 3. There was an odd smell like maybe there had been animals there, which they do allow (like I said, we had a dog with us), but they charge a $200 pet fee which one would hope would cover thorough cleaning and therefore help with lingering smells. We got used to it and it wasn’t terrible, just present. All this to just be honest and thorough so future guests have all the info, but as I said, we were generally happy with our stay.

Peaceful getaway
We enjoyed our stay in this peaceful spot. We saw a seal, bald eagles, ducks, and other birds from the deck. The house was clean & comfortable & had everything we needed. It was great to be so close to Acadia and Bar Harbor, as well as Northeast Harbor & Southwest Harbor. We ate lots of lobster! Loved having mountains & waters everywhere! It was beautiful!

We LOVED this location. It felt tucked away from the busy tourist spots but was close enough to Bar Harbor and Seal Harbor for adventures. Our toddler loved watching the birds right in the backyard. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could need from wine glasses to s'mores sticks. The only downside was the cleanliness of the bathroom. We didn't like that a high use vacation house has carpet in the bathroom. There were also facial hair shavings on the countertop.

Woke up every morning to the beautiful sites and sounds surrounding the cottage. Perfect location for our tour of Acadia. One kind comment: consider tile in the bathroom instead of carpet.

Beautiful, perfect cottage
Nice location on tidal pond waterfront. We brought kayaks and went thru narrows to ocean. Cottage was very clean, kitchen well stocked for real cooking. Living room had window a/c, and all rooms had floor fans. Deck overlooked water, with picnic table, 4 leisure chairs, and BBQ nearby. Linens were very good quality. Furniture very comfortable and clean. Easy access to Acadia 30 minutes. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful peaceful location
Wonderful stay-beautiful views! Very clean, easy check-in. Adorable place. Kitchen was well-equipped. Nice outdoor space with deck, fire pit, and cornhole bean bag game. Lots of books on Acadia to read, which was great since I didn’t complete my planning! Location was convenient to Acadia and Bar Harbor. I posted a few pictures of the water from the back deck on social media-friends and family asked me where I was because it was so beautiful.

Incredible spot
We absolutely loved Noonie's Nest! It is perfectly situated on the "quiet side" of Mt. Desert Isle within 20 minutes from the entrance to Acadia and about 20 minutes to Thurston's Lobster Pound (best lobster in Maine IMO :) The cottage was immaculate, comfortable, well-appointed, and has beautiful views. It rained more than we'd hoped while we were there but the comfort of the cottage made staying in enjoyable rather than annoying. But we still made it out for amazing hikes and sightseeing. Also had some good sightseeing from the cottage - saw an osprey, bald eagle, seagulls, ducks, song sparrows, and more! We loved our stay and wished it could be longer.

We didn't want to leave!
If there is a more perfect setting, I don’t know what it is. Although it rained during most of our stay, we did get out to see some sights. It was always good to come "home" to the beautiful view, fascinating birds, and serene location. The house was well equipped, and very comfortable. It was convenient to Acadia and Bar Harbor I highly recommend!
