Convenient location. The property is old and a bit run down. My first impression was "OMG, what have I got myself into". But the room was clean and the bed was super comfortable. Parking is across the street.

The staff at the check in desk were very friendly and the room was very clean. However, the entire building was extremely run down and in bad shape. The mattresses were old and noisy and the balcony looked less than safe.

Quick Weekend Overnight Stay
It was a quick overnight weekend trip.We got out to Myrtle Beach late and things got to a rocky start after getting there.The lady greeted me with a scowl and waved at me annoyingly to come inside and not at the window.A man with a strong southern accent named Wayne checked me in and I paid for an ocean front with two queens. Parking was across the street. So we grabbed our things after trekking across the street and entered the room.They tried to put us in pool side view with high bars in which I felt like I was looking out of a jail cell or prison room 217. My sister/ best friend screamed as a roach greeted us on the edge of the soiled sofa. I missed the roach because I was stunned at the stained sofa and the view I just witnessed. I immediately tried to call the front desk but the phone was disconnected with no dial tone and it was like I was in a horror movie. What was supposed to be a relaxing trip made my nerves go into high alert. I called them on my cell phone . I described the situation of the room and that it was not suitable for us to sleep in. She stated there may not be any other rooms but then said that there was one on the 10th floor. The same man redid my check in to our new room.He state “ It’s a better view.”I believe that’s where I was supposed to be in the freaking 1st place.It was of course way better than what we 1st walked into. I don’t recommend.

This property is old and needs repairs and updating desperately. It is broken into three buildings. The 8 story tower that I was assigned had only 10 parking spots underneath and one of the handicap spots was being used to store construction materials. There was additional parking across the street in an open unsecure parking lot requiring you to have to cross a busy street to get to the hotel. Empty cardboard boxes were scattered throughout the hallway on the floor I was on. The door to the room had to be forced open and closed. I requested maintenance on the bathroom faucet the first day there, when I checked out 4 days later the maintenance still had not been completed. Found blood on wall outside of elevator on ground floor. Had to Lysol the entire room because we were afraid to touch anything let alone walk in our bare feet. Free continental breakfast was terrible, I gave up on it after first morning. I will never stay at this property or any Best Western again nor will I ever recommend it to anyone else. I considered checking out after first day but didn't believe I would receive refund for remaining days.

Best Western was such a disappointment, the place smelled old and dingy. I actually left and didn't care that they charged me my deposit for one night. The furniture in this place was old worse than what you would see in a thrift shop. I would never stay in this place. Like so many places in MB, this place needed a major renovation, you get what you pay for. Men, do not bring your wife or GF to this place unless you plan on getting dumped.

The ocean view was nice. The curtain didnt close all the way to the room and you couldnt close the bathroom door, because it wouldnt open and you would get stuck. My husband had to shimmy the door to get out the bathroom, because he was stuck

We had no idea the suite with kitchen would be so large. Balcony was perfect for relaxing. Parking was across a busy street and that could have been a problem in the summer. It was only about 1.5 miles from our favorite restaurants.

The Ocean Sands Beach Resort BW in North Myrtle Beach has listed a tiki bar and a hot tub as amenities at Hotels.com and their own website - no hot tub (permanently closed) and the tiki bar had not been opened even in beautiful weather the whole time we were there March 1st - March 8th. 😞 The lobby sign NOW says Friday-Sunday ( when we checked in the sign said 12-5 pm with no days mentioned ). The furniture needs to be replaced in the lobby and in our room, also the room needed painting. The good things were a decent breakfast and beautiful view.

All of the staff were very, very nice! I like that the breakfast had a staff member serving the hot foods, much nicer than other places we have stayed.
