Nice place.
The gps will take you to the wrong hotel, and my only real issue was the check-in location. Double tree and the Ellie share the same lobby and located between the two. You can use any of the three pools at both hotels which is cool. Large grass area at DT and the restaurant and bar are classy. Great pancakes. The staff very friendly. The parking was great, no crazy parking decks but i think very limited if was full summer. Limited Tv channels. Pool was very clean. Even have an adults only pool in the middle. Kids and adults will also like the games under lobby. Horseshoe pool cornhole pingpong. For beachwalkers. The state park is just to the right. 1 mile pier to pier. Just trees and waves. It was great. In the summer, this spot will get flooded with locals but still not a crowded area. Its a great spot. I enjoyed it. Room was nice. Wonderful water pressure in showers, the Ac units are older hotel syle and need some attention or updated. The indoor pools where closed. The water slide was fun even for adults. Overall i would stay here again.

I need a refund for this property because it is an extremely falsified and deceptive marketing of a property. One can actually fall victim to a felony crime there not to mention the awful level of cleanilineaa, rudeness of the staff and dining is excruciatingly vile. I travelled here for a solo trip. The staff was very professional. The facility is not worth what they charge! The first room I got was dusty and the cleaning detergent smell was still so strong, I had a headache. I asked to be moved to another room. The staff assisting stated the place had the strong smell coz the room was not aired. I was offered an upgrade for a cost. The new room was $35 upgrade fee and $35 resort fee (which was not mentioned when upgrading) and a couple dollars for taxes EACH NIGHT! As we checked the rooms out I couldn’t hesitate noting the dirty corridors and old buildings! I don’t feel like I got a value for my money! I would totally not stay here again!

It was just ok
The pictures sure do make it look good. Inside the rooms are nice, clean for the most part, although there was hair on the shower walls. Outside looks like something out of the 80’s They have a water slide for the kids so good for families The staff was nice, bartender was nice but his drinks weren’t good. Overall it’s good for families but to stay as a couple- I’d want something else

Stay was great other than trying to figure out where to check in. It is not marked and or clear as to where to go as this resort is attached to another resort by a different name. Thanks to security helping my husband and I get checked in we would have gone somewhere else and cancelled our reservation. Other than that it was a wonderful stay! Pool area was very nice!

Went to get ice, no signage for ice machines (only on certain floors), went to call front desk to ask, phone did not work, small ants in in bathroom coming from door stop area, banging on door late night and unable to call desk from room phone cause it didn’t work. Did speak with manager next morning asking for partial refund and she agreed to. Waiting to see.

The Ellie is a glorified, overly expensive motel at its best. The property is extremely run down and dirty. The check-in process is extremely confusing as they share the desk with another hotel. The staff is not friendly or helpful, and let’s not even get started on the room. Not only is it noisy until late in the night (4am), but the AC kept going on and off and making terrible noises. The room floor was also covered in sand. I would suggest that Expedia takes it off its list of recommended hotels. As a Platinum member I was so disappointed with this suggestion and the fact that I paid for a night what I would pay at a luxury hotel and got a dumpster in return.

We left some clothes in the closet. We called a few hours after checking out and several times after that. We never spoke to anyone that could help. They would tell us that they would call back but never did. Poor customer service in my opinion.
