Want a place to unwind, relax, enjoy nature and experience tranquility, serenity and peacefulness? Experience what our guests are repeatedly saying about their stay! Once you arrive you will not want to leave! This small gem is a newly constructed cozy 2 bedroom cabin nestled at the end of a long private gravel road, surrounded by trees and gently rolling farmland. Your very own private retreat!

Inside you'll experience a spacious living area for relaxing, playing games, reading, watching tv. Many games and movies are provided for your enjoyment as well as free Wi-Fi. A fully equipped kitchen is ready for those who enjoy cooking their own meals.

Awake in the mornings and be greeted by wild deer grazing in the fields; birds singing; and geese relaxing by the pond. Take a walk and enjoy picturesque views of the surrounding hills, sunrises, sunsets, pond, birds and other wildlife. Sit back and relax in a rocking chair or in a swing on one of the porches. There are also benches around the pond where you can watch the fish jump as well as the sun rays glittering on the water. Catch and release fishing is permitted in the pond. Wrap up your day sitting around the large fire pit that has plenty of seating for everyone.

Only 6 miles from the Bluegrass Parkway; 19 miles from Bardstown; 8 miles to historic Bloomfield; and 5 miles to Chowning Lane Boat Ramp on Taylorsville Lake. Such a wonderful cabin!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was beautiful, clean and wonderfully appointed with everything needed for our weekend stay. Lori Jo and Ricky have done a wonderful job with this cabin. They are the perfect hosts! The bonus is having a quiet, private place that is only 30 mins from every ‘attraction’ we went to. We WILL return!

Home away from Home
The cabin is everything described in the listing. Very clean, inviting and well decorated. It was so peaceful sitting on the porch watching the wildlife and hearing the birds chirp while drinking your morning coffee. The owners were very nice and easy to work with. We would definitely recommend this cabin to friends and family. We were there exploring the Bourbon as a weekend getaway.

True to the pictures, this cabin is the perfect place to stay. We loved everything about it, the secluded area, the pond, and the porches! There are so many little details the owners thought of to make our stay the best, we hope to go back!

This home was wonderful. Everything you could possibly need was provided down to tissues and snacks. There were lots of wildlife (birds especially) to look at, fish to catch in the pond and the beautiful surroundings. The home was decorated so beautifully. The layout was wonderful and spacious. We enjoyed the lights that came on at dusk at the pond and in the swing area at the edge of the woods. There was a fire pit with wood, chairs on both porches, swing on the back porch and swings in the yard. There were benches at the pond. We'd get up in the mornings, have coffee and breakfast on the back porch, then off to fish or sit and read or watch the birds. We thoroughly enjoyed staying here. It was so very peaceful and quiet. Lori Jo and RIcky are the perfect hosts ensuring every possible amenity was provided. They are wonderful people to talk with. We would highly recommend staying in this home. It was convenient to Louisville and Bardstown. We came to attend the 150th Kentucky Derby. We had an amazing time.

Best Anniversary Trip!!
We celebrated our first wedding anniversary here at Sundance Acres and it was truly magical. The kitchen and cabin is stocked with every utensil you can think of/need, the home is very clean, beds are comfortable and the shower is AMAZING. Not to mention, the property this cabin sits on is everything you will need and more to unwind and relax. Truly your home away from home. Lori Jo and Ricky are great hosts and were very responsive and accommodating. We even ended up catching 13 fish before we left. Thank you Lori Jo and Ricky for sharing your little piece of heaven with us. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better getaway with our son to celebrate. We will be back again, very very soon.

Weekend Getaway
We had an amazing time! It was the perfect quiet weekend getaway. We spent the day exploring Bardstown and hiking with giants at Bermheim Forest. We used the firepit every night. The house was very clean and very well stocked. We would absolutely stay here again!

Perfect Kentucky experience
I found this property while looking for a place to stay while we visited the Bourbon trail. The pictures online look gorgeous, I was so excited to be able to stay here and had high expectations. All of those expectations were met and exceeded. Hosts are wonderful, everything is easy and the place is amazing!! So clean, so thoughtfully decorated and supplied with everything you'd need. We ended up shortening our day trips because we were so excited to get back to the cabin and enjoy the peacefulness and beauty it provided. I hope to came back here someday and can't recommend this home enough!

Hidden Gem
The photos and description really don't do justice for this place. It was the perfect size and the perfect setting for what we were looking for. A quiet, secluded spot not too far from everything but remote enough to be peaceful and that's precisely what it was. It's perfectly situated between Bardstown and Frankfort, far enough from the road you hear zero road noise, and immaculate. Our hosts were fantastic as well. We definitely hope to be back!!

Perfect-Perfect-Perfect!
Everything about our stay at the cabin was perfect! My hubs & I stayed for 3 nights for our 22nd wedding anniv. I can say we are kind of "cabin snobs" since we book cabins about 2x per year for quick getaways. From all the small touches (snacks on the counter, bottles of water), to the "menu" of activities on the counter, to the Christmas decorations EVERYWHERE, including outside lights, to the bottles of shampoo/conditioner/body wash in the shower, to the responsiveness of the host....so much goodness in this cabin. Beds were VERY comfy, shower was amazingly tiled and beautiful, the dishware was top notch (we made breakfast and grilled steaks for dinner on the gas grill). We will make it our mission to come back this coming spring or fall just so we can use the swing in the woodsy area and the swing/porch rockers on the front and back porch, along with the fire pit. The ONLY suggestion we had (by my hubs) would be to have a recliner to read in! LOL! Bardstown was close so we spent ample time there & the cabin is about an hour away from Louisville, where we went to a speakeasy and had dinner. We went to 4-Roses & Buffalo Trace Distilleries, which was about 40 min from the cabin. Next time we stay, I'd like to go to some of the wineries - there are TONS around the cabin area. In other words - BOOK THIS CABIN ASAP & even if you don't go anywhere, you will have a great time! It's so secluded! Also, I'd love to eat breakfast on the quaint table overlooking the pasture & Pond!

Lori Jo & Ricky were amazing hosts! The cabin had everything we needed. It was clean and comfortable and the location was perfect for the bourbon trail. The property was beautiful. I'm not sure what could be done to improve this cozy cabin. The interior was clean and well designed so it felt open and spacious. There was also plenty of usable outdoor space, the grounds were well kept, and the area was quiet and peaceful. The hosts provided everything you would need for a wonderful stay.

Peaceful and Perfect
My friends and I were looking for a small cabin that was away from the bigger cities ("out in the middle of nowhere" was how my friend requested it), and we happened to stumble upon this listing. To call this a "cabin" is somewhat of a misnomer. It's a gorgeous little 2 BR house with all the amenities that you could ask for. Everything is updated and clean. The furniture is comfortable, as are the beds. The shower is amazing and the towels are softer than most of the high priced hotels that we've stayed in. The cabin is about 40 minutes from Frankfort, about 30 minutes from Bardstown, and just under an hour from Louisville. That being said, it wasn't difficult to get to any of those locations. And what you lose in driving time, you gain in "peace and quiet". At night, there is almost zero light pollution, so the stargazing is amazing. The house is far enough off the road that when a car might pass by, we wouldn't have known it. In fact the only real sounds that we heard the were crickets, and an occasional cow. There is a fire pit and a stocked lake, and the views of the rolling hills are spectacular. As far as the hosts, Lori Jo and Ricky are amazing. The communication before we checked in was plentiful and the instructions were clear. They answered the few questions that we had quickly and were a joy to work with. They definitely go above and beyond for their guests. I would give this place 10 stars, if I could. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I loved our time here! The property was secluded, peaceful and just gorgeous. Every morning before we headed out for the day and every evening when we returned, we spent time on the porch watching all the birds visit the feeders. The home itself was very welcoming and had everything we needed. It was extremely clean, well maintained and the bed was comfy with fresh, luxurious linens. We were visiting the area for the bourbon trail and felt the home was centrally located to Lexington, Louisville and the distilleries. It was the perfect couples getaway.
