Weekend Wedding Getaway
My family and I came into town for our niece's wedding! She and her husband are students at SFA and wanted to get married in the town that they met! We all traveled in from North Texas for the weekend! We chose this home for the affordability and proximity to the wedding venue! It was a great place to stay and we wished we had more free time to have allowed the rest of our family to join us for a backyard cookout or something! There was so much space and the yard was beautiful! If we ever come back to Nacogdoches, we would definitely want to stay here again! It was a great country feel and a comfortable stay for our entire family! We were even able to bring our tiny chihuahua! She loved exploring the backyard lol. Thanks for the great weekend and we loved learning the history of the property!

Birthday Getaway
This is the 2nd time we have stayed at the property. Our children go to SFA "Axe'm Jacks!"and we visit them. We have dogs so the property is pet friendly! The property is beautiful and well taken care of. I love to read and loved the book selection. The best part is I went shopping downtown and the shop owners knew who I was renting the property from... nothing but great things to say about the owners! Thank y'all for a great getaway stay!

Country House
We were long term renters for this house. The house is in the country, outside the Nacogdoches city limits. It has a very large back yard with a nice fire pit and beautiful trees. The kitchen is large and has an island/bar for 4 people. There is no dining table. There is a food pantry, which I really liked. Some places have no where to store your food The master is a good size and has a very comfortable mattress. The back bedroom is bright and cheery, with a walk in closet. The 3rd bedroom, off the living room is smaller, but still plenty of room to move around. The bathroom has been redone. The pictures don’t show the walk in shower, but it is a very nice, tiled shower. Larger than one might expect with the small door. There is a washer and dryer off the outdoor patio. The patio is cemented with a full cover and chairs to sit and visit or enjoy your coffee. The hosts, Peggy and Tony are very pleasant to talk to and will go out of their way to make their guests comfortable. They are easy to contact, should you need them.

Awesome weekend!
We were in town for our sons baseball tournament. Location was perfect. Had the "country feel" but still close enough to get to town quickly. Owner was quick to reply and very helpful. They were very considerate by letting us stay later Sunday because we had a later game Sunday. The property was well taken care of. We had so much fun sitting out by the fireplace at night and cooking on the gas grill. The beds were really comfortable. Kitchen was nice and open. It was nice having the kids sitting around the table while we were cooking in the kitchen. Between the open kitchen and firepit outside my family had a lot of needed family time. Only time we turned on the tv was in between games/resting. If we are ever in the area again, we would stay here again 100%!

Charming and thoughtfully appointed
We were looking for a long-weekend getaway from Houston. This charming and well-appointed home was just right for our family (mom, dad, two teens). The house was clean, maintained, and stocked with everything we could have wanted for a few days away – a perfect home away from home. The house is small, but a perfect size for us and way better than trying to make do with a hotel for a few days. It is updated and clean. They are ready for these “pandemic” times with Lysol spray, wipes, and hand sanitizer. They have liquid hand soap at all the sinks. There is a single bathroom, but it is clean and relatively large. They have plenty of towels, soaps, shampoo, body wash, lotion, etc… if you need. In the kitchen, they have a Keurig pod coffee maker with available coffee and tea, plus a regular coffee maker. Their kitchen is stocked with plates, glasses, etc.., but we brought disposable stuff and generally ate carry out food from Nacogdoches. They have a supply of Ghirardelli chocolates. Note, there is not a dishwasher. For entertainment, they have AT&T internet and DirecTV (Note: but no Tennis Channel, which would be a 1 star deduct by me, but 5 additional stars by the rest of my family 😊). There is a fire pit in the back yard. It was all set up for us with wood and pinecones. We enjoyed looking at the stars in the evening with the fire going and making smores. Since it was so dry, we didn’t want to let the fire just burn out, so we killed it with water. Our apologies for any mess this caused on clean up. The house is located along a state route, so there is a bit of traffic noise. We travel with noise-makers, so it didn’t both us – YMMV. I would definitely choose to stay here again the next time we go up to Nacogdoches. FYI, we went to Cherokee Trace Drive-Thru Safari one day and rode horses at Roselake Ranch the next. Both of those places are highly recommended.

We enjoyed our stay here when visiting with our college son. The place was clean and had everything we needed ( including a washing machine and dryer to clean all the clothes my son hadn’t at college). We loved the fire pit. Perfect for a full-mooned Halloween night! Peggy was great and dealt with issues we had with the DVD player right away. We plan on using this rental again next time we come back!

First-time to rent Montes Hill and now its our favorite stay in Naco-nowhere
I love coming back every year with friends to visit the town of my alma-mater but this time Montes Hill made it even better. Wonderful property & conveniently located. Enjoyed the surroundings and scenic views of the deep east piney woods for the short drives into town. With 4 adults, a toddler and a dog; all the rooms have a good amount of space, especially in the front and back yards. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay playing in the back yard, using the patio, fire pit, comfy couches and large kitchen island. The only downside were the ants and stickers in the yard (though we are not strangers to Texas country landscape) and honestly, the dull knives supplied in the kitchen made it quite difficult to cut fruits and meats. 'Had hoped to find a knife sharpener in a drawer. For those with dogs, you do need to keep a close eye that they don't go to the main road. The house is very comfortable, Peggy is a great host and quick to respond to messages. We decided that we want to stay here every year we come to visit, bring more friends to occupy the third bedroom, and reserve for a longer stay!
