Always stay here when visiting Nanaimo. Quiet, great location and friendly staff. Although it is showing its age (carpets, furnishings, etc), it offers a great stay and will still be coming back. My husband also likes the cookies offered at the lobby coffee station!

Beautiful but a few issues.
It’s a lovely hotel but needs a bit more upgrading for $190/night! The toilet seat in our room was loose and would shift us off. Also the cleaning product used on the tile floor in the room and in the bathtub made them both VERY slippery! This product needs to be reconsidered as both of us almost fell in the tub. When I mentioned these issues at checkout, the person working didn’t seem concerned and didn’t make a note of them. This was disappointing. Also the breakfast room is very small and VERY hot. A super spreader room if anyone has the flu or Covid. Windows could be opened but often were not. The hot tub was VERY hot and when asked if it could be turned down, the response was they would ‘let maintenance know’. It wasn’t enjoyable at the temperature it was. And despite claims of ‘towels available’ we had to ask for them.
