Being stranded outside at 7:30 on a Friday night for an hour waiting for someone to bring the keys was not the best start of our holiday. We tried ringing, leaving a message as no response and ended up having to contact Vrbo.
Beware check-in is after 7pm, never had that before.
Nobody told us that you don't actually go to number 106. The gite is through a drive leading to a carpark and in between 2 buildings. That would be fine if you knew where to go, bear in mind you can't access it unless you have the keys with the key fob to open the gate. Obviously, not knowing better we're just outside that building
until a lady finally appeared. She was lovely and very apologetic, but after travelling since 5 o'clock in the morning it was really not fun.
That aside, the flat itself is well equipped and quiet. The sofa bed didn't have any bedding despite my request. Luckily my son had sleeping gear with him as he was going to the festival a few days later.
As for checking out, after leaving 2 messages, I got an email at 4 o'clock the morning we were leaving asking if it was ok for her to come between 10 and 11. This was a bit stressful as I had to take my son to the festival and collect my husband from the airport.
In conclusion, gite is ok, didn't need anything fancy as only for a few days and being out most of the time.
Hopefully, a few lessons will be learned on how to make check-in and check-out a little less stressful.
