Remote and gorgeous
Very rustic cabin in the middle of the woods, which is a great experience. Very relaxing around fire in the evenings. Little tricky to find it the first time as Google maps wanted us to take an ATV trail but we found it! Had a great time with family

Perfect getaway
Our stay was brief but I wish it could have been longer. The home was exactly as described. The ride in was an adventure! The atmosphere of the property was perfectly peaceful. My kids told me when we were leaving that all other vacation homes will be measured against this one!

Beautiful secluded lodge
We had a great time at the Lazy Bear Lodge. The property was spacious, clean, beautiful, and had everything we needed. Marty was very responsive with any questions we had. Part of its secluded charm, though, is that it is not easy to get to for city slickers like usā€”15 miles of unpaved roads made it a trek to go into town. Perfect place to hang out with family and friends and get away from civilization for a bit!

Long Dirt Road
This Lazy Bear Resort is truly a private, remote location. Once you make the long trip down the windy road you will embark on a log cabin in the woods. The cabin is absolutely beautiful and well described in its listing. We wish the lake was a little more accessible, but other than this no complaints.

Lazy Bear Lodge
I stayed at the Lazy Bear Lodge with my family and friends. The cabin was great. Very clean and well appointed. The property was beautiful! All of us in my group (6 adults and 6 kids) loved the Lazy Bear Lodge and had a great time. We would love to come back. Marty was a great host. Thank you, Marty, for your hospitality!

Cabin in the (very remote) woods
The property looks just like the pictures. It was beautiful, secluded and quiet. We had 4 families with kids and adults and we enjoyed the property and the amenities. We were a little nervous driving out because itā€™s very remote. But once we got there the property was just as advertised and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Just what we wanted!
We could not be happier with the Cozy Bear Lodge or itā€™s host Marty! Communication is key and he answered all of our questions with patience and passion for us to have a great stay. Which we did! Accommodations were top notch and this place is a true get away! If you want peace, you have it! If you want adventures in the wilderness or to do some riding you have it! Just could not have had a better time! We will be back!

Father Son Snowmobile Trip
Wonderful off the grid snowmobiling paradise. We had an amazing time for our annual father son snowmobile trip. The cabin was clean with all the comforts of home. The sauna was great after a full day on the trails. Marty is a great host. I highly recommend his cabin. Four wheel drive vehicles are needed in the winter.

New Years 2023 Snowmobile Trip
Fantastic stay with great snow and an even greater host! Marty was always accessible, and helped us out when we had issues with a snowmobile. It truly is off the grid, in the middle of nowhere! You would never know it however, because it has all the comforts of home. Definitely need four wheel drive in the winter, and GPS to guide you. I would strongly suggest this to the avid snow rider. Lots of miles to be found in this true back country! Thanks again Marty!

Amazing rental and hosts!
We had three couples and this cabin was amazing! Back in the woods with all the comforts of home. We road the trails on our side by sides to Big Bay and around the area, attend a wedding, fires every night and the sauna topped it off! That said was able to work a little with great internet connectivity. We will be back for snowmobile season!!!

Lost in the Woods - GT ā€˜22
This is a beautiful remote cabin in the woods! Our crew of Jeep drivers throughly enjoyed its authenticity and amenities. With excellent trail access between Marquette, Ishpeming and Big Bay we had an awesome time of discovery in the northern Upper Peninsula. The home was a quintessential log cabin with everything you would need and desire. The hosts are friendly and responsive and we really enjoyed our stay. Our Jeep crew boasts the tagline of ā€œLost in the Woodsā€ and this place perfectly encapsulates our desires. Get lost in the wild but come home to the comforts and warmth of this expansive yet cozy cabin in Champion Michigan!

Top Notch!
Came here with the family for a relaxing time in nature. We loved it! The house, annex, sauna, and grounds are all beautifully done and well maintained. It's remote, which is what we wanted, but this place is so well though out that it doesn't even feel like "off the grid". Our whole family agreed that Marty and Carol were the best hosts we've experienced - very communicative and helpful! We're glad we got to meet them upon arrival, as we could tell they're just good people. We would definitely love to visit again someday and will for sure recommend this to anyone planning a trip to the western U.P.

Amazing home, and excellent host
This home is absolutely beautiful. The views from the deck, and windows are amazing. This home is miles away from civilization, and off grid, yet felt like you could have been a mile from town with the electricity, running water, internet service and satellite TV. The thought this host put into this vacation home is almost unbelievable. The home is equipped with, family games, playing cards, fishing gear, a canoe, extra outdoor chairs, a playpen and high chair for toddlers,(absolute life saver after we forgot ours.) A fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, and more than enough towels and washcloths for a party of 15. There was a hummingbird feeder on the back deck that was used day and night, and provided hours of enjoyment for the kids and adults alike. The home is very remote, and on a large pond, so there were a ton of mosquitoes when we arrived, however Marty had provided a fogger, and a mosquito trap that took care of the issue almost immediately. With all those mosquitoes one would assume such a remote home would be a haven for spiders and other insects, but the home was spotless inside and out. We couldn't be happier with our stay, and would recommend this home to anyone. If I had to pick a drawback, it's the long drive on dirt roads to get to the home, but even that was enjoyable as we saw a multitude of animals, like deer, porcupines and even a glimpse of a small black bear. 5 stars

Remote Cabin Experience
Phenomenal property that was completely isolated deep in rugged nature. A ā€œfrontierā€ experience while in Michigan is a unique thing. Access to Marquette and surrounding area a drive but reasonable. Sauna on the property elevates the stay to the next level. Will leave here calmer, as life will have slowed down and connection to nature ensued. Marty a great host, supportive, communicable, and laid back. Once in a lifetime experience, would highly recommend.
