The beach is perfect, and plenty of seating. The beef option at all the specialty restaurants should be avoided it is not edible very tough, but the chicken, and lamb options are very good. I would like it if the pools did not close at 6:00.

Beach and Staff are awesome! Breakfast and lunch options are fantastic, but dinner can feel a little repetitive. Property is always clean. Rooms are nice, not 5 - star, but plenty nice enough. Great place for a family as the staff is terrific with kids.

RIU Palace Tropical Bay is a beautiful resort with everything I could have wanted. The buffets were delicious, servers were very accommodating, housekeeping always had our room cleaned in the morning and the front desk helped us with a couple of personal issues. The grounds are lovely and well maintained, beach cleaned of debris, nice and long for walking, with plenty of shade and lounge chairs. Very well managed property!

We had a wonderful time here, the food at the restaurants was great at night, the jerk chicken for lunch was delicious, the beach is beautiful and the staff and entertainment was great. There are some things that need to be maintained better, but overall we loved the stay here. The things we noticed were that the shower head could use some fixing and there was a recessed light out over one of our sinks, the mirrors were peeling back around the edges, and there was so much caulk built up that it looked sloppy. I only have two complaints but the second is out of their control. The first is that the beef is terrible, just avoid anything beef or steak and you will have a good food experience. Their beef options were always bad and everyone around us always agreed. The “filet” was the toughest piece of meat I’ve ever tried to cut or chew and no matter what steak people seemed to have an issue with it and not eat it. Everything else is delicious though! My second complaint is just the cloud pattern. For us if there were ever any “scattered” clouds they would always be in a line from the island out to the ocean in the direct path of the sun so it would be blue sky all around and just this path of clouds blocking the sun all the way out til sunset. Very frustrating. If it’s windy, the clouds moved out of the way a little better but with low winds good luck getting sun. Pray for a clear day, because even if the weather says clear it can be that like of clouds blocking the sun.

From front desk to entertainment and wait staff, housekeeping, bartenders- every one was friendly and willing to go that extra mile! Excellent resort, felt very safe, so clean and organized, beachfront and ocean beautiful! I will definitely be booking with Riu resorts in the future!!

This is far the best RIU I’ve been to. This property, beach, staff are amazing. My only complaint is their ridiculous dinning reservation system. Reservations ( not the buffet) are difficult to obtain. Plenty of open seats at the unavailable restaurants, so they should staff up accordingly and make them available, perhaps even a late seating. Fix this problem, this resort would be a 10.

The property was so clean! We loved all the staff and entertainment. Spotlight was so attentive and funny. Samual the host at the restaurants was so helpful and friendly. The beach was amazing very swimmable with a lot of water toys. If I had to give 1 negative or suggestion, I wish there was more activities for the kids. But we still had such a great time and would definitely go back!

The beach is awesome. Can’t find better. Calm, beautiful and plenty of chairs for all guests. Food was mediocre and room service could use more food options. Shower was rarely warm so had to take a cold shower. Property needs to be updated. We heard some rooms are renovated, ours was not. Bed was HORRIBLE! my back hurt every day. Maybe offer pillow toppers? I’d come again for the beach if the price is right. Overall - decent place to stay for the $.

Our stay was very good, the beach and water were excellent, 99.9 of the staff are excellent and friendly one miserable lady in the cafe bar and coffee shop in the lobby. The room we were in 4208 the first building next to buffet was oceanfront and clean and always stocked well the only complaint of our room and others we talked to was the poor air conditioning system where the room always was damp and smelled musty, I brought a damp rid but it really did nothing at all to help. This is a serious problem for allergies and breathing and I would wake up stuffed up every morning. The buffet food was just ok, but should have been much better because they are having you eat there for the first three days of your stay, they also do not know much about gluten intolerance and there were limited options to eat, they are not as helpful as the Iberostar in Montego Bay for this. We ate at two of the specialty restaurants Krystal and the Rimini and both were great. The jerk hut is delicious and had lobsters also a couple days. The wait staff out by the pool and ocean were always hustling and did a great job, our favorite Sunny was a jem to talk to and get to know. Also props to all the maintenance staff for keeping the grounds and beach in the best shape on bloody bay. If you like talking to the vendors that walk the beach sit in the front row of lounge chairs if you want to be left alone sit a couple of rows back and you can have peace and quiet, no shortage of towels or chairs also.

Second time I go at Riu palace. First time 7 years ago I enjoyed better. Some service people are rude. The girl at 24 hours lounge rude as well and the fridge most of times empty. The sinks at bathroom in our room were really bad. They get full of water in 10 seconds. The toilet was horrible, water tank as well. Generally the food is good but the see food quality and variety is not good at all. Reception girls were really nice, especially Deandria. Even service guys at the beach were nice.Entertainment very good. Overall nice, but 5 stars nooooo.

Property claims free transportation to and from airport, but doesn’t assist with transport from airport. Blames it on Expedia. Expedia points at them. Guest stuck at airport. Never resolved. Had to pay for expensive shuttle instead.

they should be more attentive at guest at the bar there was ans incident where i was there waiting with my kids and was completely ignored. it was brought up to the manager and he said he will look at the video and get back to men and i am still waiting for his conclusion. jamaica is beautiful it just depends on who takes care of your basic necessities that makes it a great or bad experiences.
