This vacation home boasts 3 comfortable bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a large living space, and a spacious kitchen. Traveling is a breeze when you stay with us as the home is fully equipped with great amenities. Property offers an outdoor hot tub, fire pit, and great quality time. State Parks, lakes, canoe & kayaking, ziplining and so much more all located within a short distance from the property.
Hiking, off-highway vehicle riding, mountain biking, or horseback riding. The Riders Roost is located 5 miles from Nelsonville and Wayne National Forest. The State Park offers over thousands of acres to explore by hiking, off highway vehicle riding, mountain biking, or horseback riding. When in town, guests will want to visit Nelsonville’s Historic Square Arts District, Stuart’s Opera House, Hocking Valley Scenic Railway, or the Nelsonville Music Festival that is held every year at Hocking College. 15 miles from the cabin, guests will run into Lake Hope State Park located in Zaleski State Forest. Guests can enjoy some fine dining at Lake Hope Lodge or a day of picnicking and swimming with family and friends.

Very roomy place. Enjoyed stay, even with the bad weather. Quiet location. Unfortunately no cell service and no land line, so you have to drive in town to communicate with property management. All the staff at Adventure Pro Outdoors were super nice and helpful.

Nelsonville Music Festival

Hidden costs
The place was beautiful. My experience beforehand was quite negative as the overall price was quite a bit higher than the total cost I was quoted. Every time I try to find out why this was so I was told five times that the costs were clear, and if I just looked, I would find them. Obviously, if that was true, I wouldn’t have kept emailing asking for the summary of costs. It took two weeks to finally get a detailed invoice, which every other time I’ve stated VRBO that’s automatically provided. The other issue was when we arrived at the cabin. The temperature inside was 90°. They had turned the air conditioners on, but obviously just before we got in there because it did not cool down until 2 o’clock in the morning, and it was never comfortable while we were there. It was warm. Space is beautiful and there’s some great hiking trails. So I recommend it as long as you find out beforehand exactly what it will cost.

The property was great. Very roomie. Cell phone is not good in the area. Had some ants on the counter close to the microwave and toaster. Rained off and on all weekend and had some car troubles. But overall God was with us and blessed us with a great time and made a new friend as well.

Overall an okay experience. Lots of room & the property was relatively secluded from neighbors. However, there were many areas in the bathroom that my teenager dismissed as paint, but turned out to be bird poop—which we figured out when my youngest found a dead bird under her bed the morning of checkout. When I addressed this with the staff, she seemed to just dismiss me. I won’t rent from this company again because I feel that if something major would happen, they wouldn’t make it right.

We had a wonderful stay. The house was very clean, I did have to wash the frying pan before using, still had food on it from the previous tenants. I had forgot to bring spices, having a few basics in the cupboards would of been great. Other than that it was great stay, and woulddo it again..

We enjoyed our stay at Riders Roost. Property was clean and had what we needed for our stay. We spent time exploring Hocking Hills State Park and were able to come back and relax after our hikes. Check in/ check out was easy and we were given suggestions for things to do and places to eat.

Spacious, clean rural farmhouse
This house was perfect for our needs- a place for our family to stay for OU graduation and some time exploring HH after. The house is well appointed, well maintained and comfortable. The hot tub is large, clean and hot! We enjoyed sitting outside listening to the birds, swinging on the swing and soaking up the sun. I did want to go for a walk to get my daily mile in so I wandered down the side road. This isn’t really a place for that. Many of the neighboring homes are pretty run down but the home we stayed in felt safe. The employees at check in and check out were very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.

Great trip!
For the price, this place is a steal! It was very clean, spacious, and had all of the things we were looking for. We had a great hike and enjoyed being outdoors the majority of our time. The only thing I would have liked better would be a contactless check in, instead of driving into town to sign in and get a key. All in all, this was the prefect two day getaway for the three of us and our two dogs!

Beautiful property right next to the woods
My partner and I are in our 60's, so having a nature spot to enjoy, a very nice hot tub, and an indoor whirlpool tub was quite therapeutic. Overall a peaceful weekend to pamper and recharge! Would recommend :)

Interesting house, and exactly what we needed
We really enjoyed our stay, it was quiet and just private enough without feeling secluded. The house has some old fashioned features which make it interesting, but updated in all the right places. It made me wonder a little about the history of it, which would be a nice little addition to the property book. We enjoyed all of the amenities and nothing really sticks out to me on an "I wish it had this..." list, just about everything I looked for; it had. I personally would have liked a bigger TV, and possibly a bedroom with a TV but like I said that's just a personal preference. The Wi-Fi wasn't great but isn't a huge deal if you are hoping to just relax and disconnect. Overall we were highly satisfied and have already shared that with friends and family. If there was one thing we could change for sure it would just be the check out time, even if it was just by an hour. Sleeping in, and being able to enjoy some of the restrauants that don't open until 11 would have been really nice. We just wanted to make the most of every minute and time to go just came too soon. 😌

Very spacious. Plenty of room for us and our dog. Looks a little rough from the outside, but clean and comfortable. Everything worked. Peaceful setting. Hot tub was a nice perk. Plenty of towels. Appreciated having beach towels for use with the hot tub. Received free tix to a nearby music event. Nice to have a grill, nice to have a covered space for our car. Note that key has to be picked up at a separate location (not far) and clearer instructions on where the dumpster is located would be helpful. Overall a great stay. Thank you.

Clean with plenty of room!!!
We really enjoyed our stay. The house is huge and is very clean! I wish we could have just checked in directly at the house. The property management team was great to work with and responds quickly. It is perfectly located between Ohio University and Hocking Hills!!
