Follow the North Star to your private vacation oasis, complete with hot tub (open all year!), heated in-ground pool, large outdoor patio, fenced back yard and open floor plan with a cozy fireplace!

Located just minutes from downtown New Buffalo's beautiful beach, shops, restaurants and harbors, North Star is a kid-friendly, pet-friendly vacation destination. The open floor plan includes a dining area that comfortably seats 8 and opens to a large living area with plenty of seating for gathering around the fireplace or watching a movie together. Board games and books are tucked in the nearby cabinet for rainy days.

The kitchen is fully stocked with all dishes, glassware, utensils and cookware, including a large toaster oven, drip-style coffee pot, microwave and electric cooktop with oven. The gas grill is just outside on the patio. Please be sure to only use plastic dishware outside by the pool!

Primary bedroom is closest to the living room and offers a queen bed, lots of closet space and a sliding door with private entrance to the back patio. Bedrooms 2-4 are off the hallway to the left of the dining area. Bedroom 2 has one double bed and one twin bed. Bedroom 3 has a twin-over-twin bunk bed, and a twin-over full bunkbed, plus a second TV. Bedroom 4 has a view of the back yard and has a double bed.

The primary bathroom has a large tile shower. Hall bathroom has a tub/shower.

We provide all bed and bath linens, as well as towels for use by the pool. We also provide laundry soap, dishwasher pods, dish soap and hand soap at every sink. You'll find a roll of paper towel and at least one roll of toilet paper in each bathroom. Please plan to bring additional paper goods as needed for your group, as well as your own body/bath soaps and shampoo/conditioner items. Coffee filters are available, but please bring your favorite coffee to enjoy!

Washer and dryer can be found in the alcove off the living room, where there is also a second fridge/freezer for your drinks and treats, and easy access from the pool area.

Guests use pool and hot tub at their own risk. Children should never swim unsupervised. No diving. No running by the pool. Please pick up after your pets!

Michigan trip
Location is great. Easy to get around and a short drive/walk downtown and to the beach. The area around the house is nice and quiet. The house is an older home and could use a good deep clean and some TLC. Backyard set up is nice and has a lot of things to do for entertainment but same as the inside it could use some upgrades. Overall we had no issues with the house and it’s a great location with good amenities.

Celebrating our friend's retirement from teaching. House was perfect. Plenty of room for all of us, inside and out. Perfect location to food, shopping, wineries. Highly recommend! Eveything was great!

We loved the location, close to great places to eat. The property itself is secluded yet doesn’t feel isolated. The house layout is welcoming and the backyard is the star of the show. The host was always quick to respond and very accommodating. Some minor improvements (but not enough to reduce the star ratings): We played musical beds as it was hard to find one that’s completely comfortable. Could use an update. The pool area needs a little cleaning. The pool itslef is super clean. It’s the furniture and pool surroundings that can use a little dusting. Other than that, this place is definitely a repeat for our family. Thank you Heather for being a great host and offering this wonderful property!

Very good minus the pool boy showing up unexpectedly and being rude to us. Tossing chemicals in hot tub with not warning us and they blew in all of our faces and food as we ate at the outside table.

Super cute house
I stayed here with a group of friends, 6 of us total, and it was a great stay. The property was as described. The beds were comfortable. We had a great time. We only wish it was warmer to enjoy the pool but that's the Midwest for you lol.

Great location and beautiful yard!
The house was perfect! We had a girls spring break trip with our daughters and had the best time. Loved the hot tub, fire pit and all the space in the house. The location was perfect, walking distance to shops, restaurants and the lake. Wish it was nicer so we could have enjoyed more outside since the backyard at the house was amazing!!

Great location, lots of beds
This is great vacation property that houses a big group and has a great outdoor space. The host was kind. I suggest making some updates to enhance the experience, like a digital thermostat that would allow guests to arrive to a warm house in the winter, and a digital entry as the key was hard to work. The house also wasn't as well stocked as other VBROs in the area, but if you know that in advance it would be okay. Thank you for a fun weekend.

Fun Girls Weekend
We were there for a Girls Weekend while also participating in a virtual conference for our businesses. There were 6 adult women. They layout of the house is nice, and we all had our own bed. The openness of the main living space was great. The large dining room table was perfect for meals and game night, and the extra drink fridge was a bonus. Of course the hot tub was amazing. There are some maintenance items that should be addressed, and we encountered a few things the cleaning crew missed from the last guest, but it didn't ruin our stay. Also, the oven in the kitchen is very low to the ground and quite small. Something to note if you plan to cook anything large in the oven. Our casserole sized dishes fit fine though. Heather was helpful with recommendations. We enjoyed a spa morning at Evolve Spa (HIGHLY recommend). We had great meals at The Stray Dog and Brewsters, and due to great weather enjoyed a walk down at New Buffalo Beach to take in the beauty of the area. We also did a wine tasting at St. Julian Winery and made a donation at the casino. It is a great area with much to do, even in the winter.

Heather’s home is in a quiet neighborhood just a block off Lake Michigan which you can see and hear from the home. A walk or drive is feasible to downtown New Buffalo. Plenty of space inside and also outside! We would return!

We didn’t get to really enjoy what’s the best about this house - the backyard due to inclement weather. And I wish there had been local access to Lake Michigan. But on the positive side, while the interior of the house is a bit worn, it’s spacious and was comfortable for our group of 5.

Great stay at this house
We rented this house for 2 nights and we loved it! There were 9 adults celebrating a birthday and a going on a wine tour, and there was plenty of space for all of us. Loved the house layout with the primary bedroom on one end of the house with sliding doors to the outside. Super easy for us to take the dog out quickly. Can't even say enough about the outdoor area - very nice!! The pool was so nice and was heated which we needed in early October :-) and we all used the hot tub which is another perk. There is a firepit that we intended to use but didn't get a chance. We all said that we need to come back for a longer period of time during summer to take full advantage of the outdoor amenities. Heather was very responsive and communicated promptly when I asked questions before the check-in date. (didn't need to contact her during our stay). She is friendly and sent information on how to walk to the nearby beaches which was appreciated. We had dinner at The Terrace Room (more formal dining) and the food was so good!! Beautiful ambiance at this restaurant. We also ate at The Stray Dog for lunch and it was delicious!! This place has a more casual vibe and there is a rooftop terrace. Highly recommend both of these restaurants. Overall, a great trip in New Buffalo!!

The house is nice and spacious, and the location is very convenient. We weren’t so lucky with the date we chose because it rained half the time. However, we did get to enjoy the pool, although it wasn’t really heated. The place could be spectacular with better cleaning and some tlc.

The North Star Exceeded Our Expectations!
This property was perfect for our family. There were plenty of beds, and lots of gathering and eating spaces for all of us. The neighborhood was great for walking, and the walk to downtown and the beach was easy. We also enjoyed seeing the boats at the nearby marinas. The children enjoyed the pool, but, this time of year the water was chilly for the adults. However, we put the grill and hot tub to good use

Another fantastic visit to this property. Close to downtown, walkable to everything, and we love the area. House is clean and comfortable for my wife and I plus our dog. Plenty of restaurants in the area, we did a few winery tours, casino, and went to the outlet mall during our stay. We will be back.
