Country Cottage @ The Killian Family Farm

Escape the city life and experience a back to basics lifestyle in beautiful and remote New Harmony, UT! We are a hobby farm working toward self sustained living and welcome you to join us in our adventure.

Halfway between St. George and Cedar City we are within an hour of numerous options for hiking and adventure such as Kolob Canyon, Snow Canyon, Zion National Park, Duck Creek Village and Brian Head Ski Resort. We are more than happy to share any information or experience we have with you!

After a fun day of adventure in our beautiful color country you can sit back and relax outside your front door while you enjoy the country ambiance with the sights and sounds of our animal family with the stunning Kolob Canyon as a backdrop. In the cooler months of winter you can snuggle up by the warmth from a fire in the wood burning stove and play one of the games or puzzles we have available or watch a movie on our Roku.

When weather permits you can book a complimentary farm experience and be a part of the action here on our little hobby farm! We’ll send you a link to book a farm experience when you book our Cottage. Availability varies depending on the season. Contact us for more information.

Farm Experience
Brush a horse or pony, rub the tummy of a friendly pig, feed our social chickens, watch our mini dairy goats being milked or help us with pack goat training by joining us on a goat walk along one of the trails on our property. Then you are welcome to join us for some farm chore fun if you want!

THINGS TO KNOW:

This is a 1200 Sq Ft separate living space attached to our main house with exclusive access to a full kitchen and laundry room with full size washer and dryer. It is meticulously cleaned between each guest.

Sleeping arrangements - This is a two bedroom cottage with two bathrooms. The master has a queen bed with its own bathroom. The second bedroom has two twin beds with another bathroom next to it. There is a folding bed in the second bedroom closet if you need to sleep a fifth person.

Location - We live on a picturesque, tree strewn property of 6 acres in beautiful New Harmony Utah with walking paths throughout. It is about 20-30 minutes to the closest town depending on which way you go.

Accessibility - This Cottage is wheelchair accessible with drive-up access, extra wide doors into the Master Suite, and a walk in double shower.

Connectivity Options - The Cottage is equipped with a strong and reliable WIFI internet connection and a small ROKU connected TV with streaming options. There is no cable or satellite TV available.

Heating/Cooling - Central heat and air conditioning with the added bonus of a wood burning stove.

Our animals sometimes make noise - While the country life is peaceful, farm life is not always quiet. Our livestock and animal family may disrupt a late sleeper or evening napper if the cottage windows are open since they can sometimes be vocal when they are waiting to be fed in the morning and evening. We try to minimize this as much as possible!

Please book a farm experience to enter animal pens - We love to share our animals, but we ask that you please wait to go into any pens until we are with you. Our animals are extremely friendly, but for safety purposes we need to be with you in the pens. You are welcome to look at them and pet them all you want from outside the fence!

Please do not feed the animals - Several of them are either on special diets or have sensitive tummies. Please help us keep them well!

Camera surveillance - We have several security cameras in use around the exterior of the house for everyones safety.

No smoking, vaping or drug activity allowed on the property at any time. No parties!

Please note that we are an hour later than Las Vegas if you are coming from that direction.

You are welcome to arrive late in the evening if needed. However, it is best to arrive in the daylight if at all possible since it is much easier to find us in the daytime as there are no street lights and not too many signs.

Thank you for your interest in our Country Cottage. We look forward to hearing from you!

Wonderful Place!
Very, very clean, comfortable and spacious. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed visiting with the goats and horses. They were used to being around people and always came up to the fence to greet us. Great central location to Kolob Canyons, Cedar Breaks, Zion, and other great outdoor spots. I highly recommend this cottage.

Exceptionally Clean cottage in scenic location
We really enjoyed our stay at Cindy and Dave’s place! The house was exceptionally clean and had a nice open floor plan. The property is beautiful with great views of Zion Kolob Canyons, and is located just minutes from I15 and Zion National Park Kolob entrance, but in a very quiet location. Our kids really enjoyed the farm experience with the animals that Cindy organized. And Dave and Cindy were great to communicate with and very responsive. Overall, we couldn’t recommend this place more!

The cool fresh mountain air - all the farm animals- the peacock that strutted for my wife , 3 days in a row! The baby goats born the day after our arrival. The White haired Rooster singing early in the morning (my wife named him Elvis because of his white furry feathers) and our friends Dave and Cindy for blessing us with this beautiful opportunity to stay in their cottage! One of the best ever! We will miss them all!

We would like to express our sincerest gratitude to the Killian family for extending a very warm welcome to their farm. Everything went smoothly from the booking all the way to our departure. Our stay was not just an accommodation but an experience to remember for a lifetime. We are thankful for the extensive tour of the farm & for introducing us to their amazing animals. Most especially Rosie! We surely brought home great memories to cherish forever. The bonfire & making smores were the highlights of our trip! Thank you very much David & Cindy. Til next time…be well. Great home away from home
David and Cindy were so welcoming to us on their property. We loved petting the animals and just being in the beautiful surroundings. It was so nice to have a place to return to, that felt like home, after a day of exploring. They probably make everyone feel this way, but we really felt like friends by the time we left. What a lovely experience it was. We hope to stay again sometime.

My hosts Cindy & Dave are one of the kindest people I’ve met and their place is amazing. Loved all the animals especially when I got to witness the birth of 3 lovely goats from Callie the goat mother. The cottage is very clean and property was beautiful close to many places we visited. It is in a quiet area on a small farm. The owners were amazing, easy going and immediately available to handle any questions and were well-informed about area activities. I can't think of a single thing that was missing or that they didn't anticipate. Very friendly people, indeed, which made for an excellent stay.

Ideal location / very nice private home with perfect hosts
My wife and I stayed here in April 2023. This was a record snow season for the area. Dave was very accommodating with me to move our reservation to a month later. He was great with open communications and welcoming us. This a perfect location that balances ease to get to several locations including Zion, Bryce Canyon, Cedar City, Snow Canyon and Red Cliffs. Location is close to Interstate I5 but super quiet and equal distance to St George and Cedar City. We like preparing our own meals and there is a big, nice, fully equipped kitchen. Master bathroom has a huge 2 head shower with lots of cozy towels. Everything was very clean. It was a fun new experience to be close to the farm animals--goats, pigs, horses and chickens. My wife pet the pigs and went on a goat walk

Our stay at the farm in Utah was an absolute delight! Dave and Cindy were exceptional hosts, providing us with a warm welcome and ensuring that we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The farm itself was immaculate, with clean and comfortable accommodations that truly exceeded our expectations. What really set this farm apart, however, was the genuine warmth and friendliness of its hosts. Dave and Cindy went out of their way to make us feel at home, offering helpful tips and recommendations for local attractions. Their hospitality truly made our stay in Utah an unforgettable experience. Overall, I would highly recommend this farm to anyone looking for a peaceful and welcoming retreat in the heart of Utah. Farm fun at the country cottage
Beautiful location in the country, but not far from everything. Our family of four had a wonderful stay with Dave and Cindy. We met their animals, watched the goats play right outside our door, and enjoyed the delicious homemade banana bread, fresh eggs, and greens grown on-site. Dave and Cindy encouraged us to make ourselves at home and provided everything we needed to do so. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to the area. SW Utah terrain is so beautiful and offers so many diverse outdoor experiences, our five-day stay just wasn’t long enough.
