Located in the lush garden behind our 1852 Creole Cottage where we've lived 14 years in the funky Bywater neighborhood. Ā Accessed via metal gate along an uneven brick and river rock sidewalk, your home is a private small cottage with separate bedroom, bathroom with clawfoot tub, and charming kitchen that has a butcher block countertop complete with a Washer/Dryer. Ā NO SHARED WALLS or floors - enjoy your privacy. Ā Two window units and cool and heat the small space. The garden features nearly 100 different herbs, native plants, citrus, peppers, roses and more used in our Apothecary business. Try the chocolate mint!
KITCHEN:
Cook a meal or enjoy nearby Bywater/Marigny neighborhood restaurants for brunch, lunch, and dinner. Ā Coffee maker and a French press with mugs, fridge/freezer, microwave, full-size gas stove and oven, and stocked with cookware and utensils to make you feel at home. Ā Two bar stools for convenient countertop dining. Ā Full-size washer/dryer so you can do laundry - bring your own detergent, dryer sheets, etc.
BATH:
Quaint bright room with a tiny sink, cool clawfoot tub, an old medicine cabinet to store your things, bright light, and an airy fresh way to start your day. Ā New electrical including GFCI with built-in nightlight. Ā Hairdryer, iron, some toiletries, and towels provided.
BEDROOM:
Overlooks the courtyard. Two windows (with exterior shutters and interior blinds) make this small room seem bigger. Ā Functional bedroom with antique FULL sized bed and new window AC/heat unit plus ceiling fan to keep you comfortable. Room is sized for sleeping only - hang your clothes in the laundry area and use the armoire to unpack your foldable items.
ENTERTAINMENT:
Smart TV - type in your credentials and watch what you want. Ā Alexa - ask for music, news or weather. Ā Games - Jenga, XL connect four, poker chips/cards, and more. Ā Record player with a selection of records while you glide in the rocking chair. Ā USB outlets for powering your devices. Ā High-speed internet Ā - good for work from home. Ā PLUS all the bars, coffee shops, and restaurants - explore Bywater, Marigny, French Quarter, St. Roch, Holy Cross, Arabi, etc.
SHARED YARD/OUTDOOR DINING:
Spacious private courtyard with table and chairs, string lights, and a shade umbrella. Ā Lounge and dine al fresco nestled amongst local flora. Ā There is also a shared fenced-in yard. Ā Bring your small pet but be aware there may be fence gaps. The backyard is a working garden for our business, Southern Rhoades Apothecary, and features many flowers, herbs, citrus, veggies, fruits and more that we use in our handmade products. THE AREA:
Plenty within walking distance. You're in the "Barmuda Triangle" near Vaughan's, BJ's Lounge, and J&J's Sports Bar. Ā AKA "Back of the Bywater". Ā Dive bars and live music several nights of the week within walking distance! Ā Treme Brass Band, Little Freddie King, Corey Henry and more. Enjoy the best BBQ in town from The Joint - "Always Smokin". Ā Parleaux Beer Lab has incredible craft beer on tap and to-go cans, is dog friendly, and has a near-nightly pop-up/food truck schedule at their brewery. Ā Step back in time at the old seafood house Jack Demsey's - beer served in a chilled mug alongside fried seafood platters and okra or mac and cheese. Bacchanal Wine is a romantic spot for music, glasses or bottles of wine, cheese plates, and small plates.

Ā Walk or bike to Crescent Park - includes a Dog Run and beautiful riding/running spot with a great view of the river and downtown skyline.
