Great Overnight Stay
It was an overnight stay before a cruise. Great location to get to port, and in the warehouse district. We are from Louisiana, and visit/stay in NOLA extensively, so we are accustomed to the different vibes of each district. The location of the hotel is in a safe area of the district, even though it does look a bit unkept. The hotel was immaculate, and a diamond in the rough.

I was very disappointed by my brief stay. The bed was unbearable - a giant marshmallow, the air conditioning unit was very loud and made it impossible to sleep and while there was a window, the exterior is blocked by a shade so that no natural light can enter. I couldnā€™t stay there and cut short our visit. For the traveler not bothered by comfort, noise and lack of sunlight, it may work but I was miserable.

Beautiful, spacious, clean home
Beautiful and comfortable home. Spacious and clean. Parking was freely and easily available on the street. Very quiet. Only downside was that it is on the other side of the highway from the Downtown area and is a little shabby - e.g. one evening I arrived back to find a homeless person sleeping on the doorstep!

Property description was inadequate at the reservation. No Staff. AirBNB style padlock entry. Communication only via text. The bathroom was in the hallway. VERY NOISY in the room due to a humidifier and stand-up a/c. No mirror in the room. The bed is very soft. The bathroom did not have standard amenities like moisturizer, etc. Cocount shampoo - hope you like the smell :-( Customer service over text was rude. Parking on the street. Bedroom and bathroom door had keypad entry which was not functional - so safety concerns. Not recommended.

We absolutely loved our stay at the creole house. The bed was so comfortable and the house is just stunning. Miss Melissa made us very welcome. Unfortunately we had to cut our stay short as the storm was coming in on our second day. As Brits we are not savvy at navigating storms so decided to cut our trip short and re divert to Florida. My only negative was that the owner did not allow a refund for the remaining night which was a shame since surely it's better to get tourists out of the way in a storm to reduce the load on services if needed. All of our other Louisiana hotels recognised this and refunded us without question. They did offer a voucher but as someone who's not local it's unlikely we will get to use this within the near future.

We had a wonderful experience here at the WG Creole House. After a late arrival on Friday night, it was nice to get to walk into such an inviting, homey place. They keep rates low by not doing things like daily room cleaning during your stay or having someone there to check you in so just aware of what youā€™re booking - I preferred this and it all went very smoothly. Staff was very welcoming and kind and very responsive when I had a question. Rooms were clean and spacious and the kitchen and dining area downstairs was a nice option when needed. Youā€™re staying in a place that was originally built in 1850 so keep that in mind but itā€™s been very well maintained and cared for and we absolutely loved it. Thank you to the WG Creole House for having us! It made our first trip to New Orleans very special. Further details: close to the French Quarter but not so close that it was loud, you can catch the streetcar nearby and make your way to most nearby tourist attractions. Lots of nearby restaurants we enjoyed visiting or getting delivery from like Mondayā€™s, Poseidon, Cleoā€™s, and more.

The property was in a good location for getting into canal st using the street car. Just 5 mins walk gets you to the streetcar stop. The property was very clean and very spacious and was excellent value for money

I stay here at least once a year, it's very sage, quiet, and clean. The amount of space in your room will outmatch other comparable spots. Its about a 5 minute walk to the St. Charles streetcar. Take advantage of this opportunity!

This hotel is cheaper than the others surrounding this. While our stay was not terrible, we can see why there is a cost difference. Pros: the hotel is in a historical property and the common areas are beautiful. The housekeeper was very nice and we were close to the activities we wanted to do in NOLA. Each room has a mini fridge. Kitchen has a microwave. Cons: the surrounding area is dirty and very smelly. There was a large dumpster sitting outside of the hotel, likely related to ongoing construction in the area, but it smelled terrible and attracted flies. No designated parking, but we did not have issues with street parking (however, not sure if this would be a problem on weekends). Heard a lot of police cars at night. In our rooms, the curtains do not cover the windows fully so when the sun rises it becomes very bright in the room, and always woke me up. It would have been nice to have a little caring touch to welcome us, such as access to filtered water. That was not the case so we walked to a gas station to buy our own. The first night we arrived, the front door did not lock properly. The owners and employees of the hotel are not on site so it was a bit alarming to have the door unsecured given the area. But when we alerted the owner to the issue through text, they fixed it quickly. So, itā€™s not like I would not recommend someone to stay here, but I probably wouldnā€™t again.
