Tired property. It needs TLC for sure. The one maintainance man NEVER stopped working, but in this place it is tough to keep up.The downstairs lobby bathroom, never seemed clean. The old beds need a refresh as do the linens. The room seemed a bit dingy. One of our washcloths had an obvious and large tear in it. The four of us had to share towels because getting 4, was always a hassle, and even after getting them, the next day we would still only get two. We stopped asking. The fan in our bathroom made a terrible squeeling noise that would wake everyone up, if you used it in the morning. The A/C worked but was loud and not subtle in any way. The people who ran breakfast were excellent, but only eat there if breakfast is included, as breakfast isn't worth the $25 per person that is billed (Even if free...you sign for it) and you are expected to tip for it based on that insane price (It is a basic hotel buffet). The location is a bit dicey, but ok. Parking is an INSANE $55US per night, but I guess that is the going rate close by. Overall, an OK, pretty expensive, stay, but I would try another place next time.

Nice hotel, staff can do better.
Our stay started off great, but things took a turn when our room wasn’t cleaned and the beds weren’t made after the second night. When I asked the front desk about this, the employee claimed that this was standard practice for hotels in New York. Knowing this wasn’t true, I insisted that the employee stop treating me like I didn’t know better. I noticed other guests were also complaining about the same issue. Eventually, the employee offered us free breakfast as a gesture to make up for it, which was nice, but it didn’t actually resolve the problem. Location is great and the subway is just a few meters away.

The location was good and the staff were kind. I added breakfast to my stay and it was convenient. Basically it boils down to this just being an older hotel. The air conditioning was great. A bit of noise came in through the window that faced the street and the mattress wasn’t the greatest. The room was mostly clean, there were some stains on the wall though. Fridge and microwave were in rooms and that was helpful. Reasonable price too.

We enjoyed our stay here in Chelsea. This hotel is in a convenient location with a Walgreens, bars and restaurants within a short walk. Our room was sufficient and had all that we meeded. The street was a bit noisy but if you're on a higher floor then you'll be fine.

The location is convenient between subway stations at each end of the block for the red and yellow trains. There is a lot of construction with covered walkways above the hotel entrance. We were surprised to find that the block is somewhat of a floral district with landscape companies dragging flowers, shrubs and even small trees out onto the sidewalk each morning, barely leaving room to walk. They drag them all back into the stores at night as if they were never there. Room was nothing fancy, but cool AC on a very hot week, although the AC fan was not very quiet for sleeping. I would probably upgrade next trip but this no frills hotel was a decent value relative to others.

I chose this hotel over similar ones based on the fact that they had both a microwave and a fridge in the room. The location was nice, but the amount of noise outside wasn't the best - sirens all night, early morning trucks (probably making deliveries for the flower shops on the street?). The a/c unit in the room was exceptionally loud even on the lowest fan setting. The phone in the room didn't work either. The room and the hotel in general seemed to be clean. Good water pressure. McDonald's and Duane Reade 1/2 block away were nice to have.
