As people who actively seek the experience of places with history, vintage architecture, warm, eclectic design and setting, and easy walking to and from, the Hotel Chelsea was for us! Appreciative of its iconic status attached to the journeys of so many iconic artists, we reveled in the ambiance and energy of the place, imagining the goings-on that must have transpired in whatever room or area we were in! As for our room, we loved the warmth and artistry of it (stained glass, the beautiful—and comfortable!—tapestry bed, quaint balcony, spacious bathroom—amazing tub and shower!). The amenities were wonderful, vintage touches everywhere delighted us; the service throughout -- front desk, housekeeping, door, Cafe Chelsea -- were all excellent... oh, and the food at the Cafe (a truly charming spot) was top-notch. Being walkers (we put in about 10 miles each day of our 7 days there), we loved the central location of the Hotel, which made it convenient to get to whatever parts of the city we deigned our focus each day. And coming "home" to the toasty lobby fireplace and the comfort of our cozy room was always something we looked forward to. Wish there'd been even a small gift shop where we could have purchased Hotel Chelsea items... we would've loved that! All in all, we've now decided it's "our place" when we're in the city. A perfect combination of all the elements we love and look for in a welcoming hotel. THANK YOU for a great visit!!

Such a great hotel. Even though it’s been through so many versions of itself, this has to be its best. We were in a suite with a small kitchen and extra half bath. 800 square feet and infinitely livable with a separate living area and a dining table. Staff was great and the lobby warm and inviting. If I had to find vault, I’d say a floor lamp or side table with a lamp would be very welcome by the sofa. Although the location feels 10 minutes from “everywhere”, as a NYC friends says, there is excellent access to the subway on both ends of the block. I’ll be back.

This is my 3rd stay and first since the huge refurbishment the hotel. The hotel is truly a jewel especially at X-MAs time. Our room was beautiful and also kept all the charm you expect. We will definitely be back.

Absolutely amazing once in a lifetime experience. Met some charming and eccentric characters. Obviously expensive but was to be expected! If I ever return to nyc ( and win lottery ) would visit again definitely!
