This hotel had very spacious room and the staff were very friendly. It is an older hotel with an old 1920 feel, but I really like that part. The rooms have been updated in the band was comfortable. It is convenient and walkable to Times Square and all of the areas surrounding. there are several dining options within walking distance as well. It is easy to get to the subway. The only thing is negative I have to add is that the room could’ve been a little cleaner and the window AC unit was very loud every time it came on.

The location is excellent and the property has a old world feel which was fabulous. The mattress was hard and the springs poked you in the back the entire night. There was no mini fridge or microwave which would have been great. Over all the hotel itself wasn't bad but not sleeping well made it hard to enjoy our days.

We picked Hotel St James since it’s walking distance to all the Broadway shows. It’s such a cute and quaint little hotel, and Joey at the front desk is the absolute BEST!! He’s so cheerful, personable, and he made us feel so welcome. It’s not fancy, but it’s clean and has everything you need. We would definitely stay there again!

The location is great if you’re really into Midtown. It’s within walking distance to a lot of great places- Times Square, 30 Rock, Grand Central, NYPL, Empire State Building, Central Park, etc. It is very busy and very loud at all hours of the day/night. Upon arrival, the staff was great which was consistent throughout our stay. Everything was clean, but there was a heavy bleach smell most of the time in the halls and in the room. My two biggest complaints- no hot water in the shower at all and the mattresses were very hard, which may be fine for some, but made for a very long four nights for me. There are no frills, but the staff was great and the location convenient, if you can stand the noise.
