This hotel is old but spotlessly clean. Its position is excellent for sightseers like us and the staff helpful. The only draw back for us was the complimentary breakfast and coffee service. Breakfast was adequate but ordinary and we hate throw away plates and Cutlery and the coffee pots was always empty when we came back from our day out and non-existent after 6pm, right when you need them. Having said that, we'd come back here when next in New York. It is good value for money.

Arrived to our room only to find out it was 85 degrees in the room. After calling the front desk 4 separate times asking them to fix it or move our rooms we finally walk out to give them time to fix/ make it right. Returned 3 hours later once they said it was fixed only to find out it was still 80 degrees. Needless to say we left and they refused to issue me a refund. Would not recommend

I used a double bed room with a friend. They both said they smelled weird air fresheners as soon as they first came into the room, but my head hurt so much that I wanted to go outside. I want to open the door and ventilate, but the room window won't open. The facility is so old that it's rusty everywhere. I saw dust under the bed. When I woke up, the bed mat was so uncomfortable. We woke up in the morning and felt so stiff. My friend said the same thing. And the water pressure in the bathroom was so weak that it took me a long time to take a shower.

Pros: •price was cheaper than nearby hotels •the room size was larger than we expected •the room had a refrigerator Cons: •my partner had the most severe allergies of his life the first few days in the hotel room, which improved with the windows open •the toilet would constantly run at times, which was annoying, made it hard to sleep, and would prevent us from being able to flush the toilet when this occurred •the water pressure from the sink was terrible (although the water pressure from the shower was fine) •the WFI seldom worked, so we were only able to watch tv one night of our stay Although I appreciated saving some money compared to other hotels, we will not be returning to this one.

Hotel is OG New York...big spacious room for a regular room with real wood doors and crown moulding....only downside to my room was the view which was just a fire escape and ac units...for me the only real disappointment was that it did not have an in-room coffee pot and they don't make any in the lobby until 7am...for an early riser like me I need that first cup when I wake up....all in all though those are really just minor inconveniences...great hotel!

rooms clean and fair size. Unfortunately our air con didn't work. Very convenient and close to everything. We walked everywhere. Most staff were helpful, some staff were not as helpful but were all very polite and respectful. The breakfast / hot drinks were convenient, but stopped after 5pm for bar to open. Kept our bags after checkout which was helpful as we had a night flight

The room itself was fine. However, the AC didn’t cool, had to open a small window for air. Toilet only flushed if handle held down for exact amount of time. It’s an old hotel that needs some modernization. The wine bar was nice.

The staff was friendly enough but this is a tired hotel that needs some investment. My room "window" was a narrow slit that looked into a dark narrow air shaft. The air conditioner did not really work so fresh air was not very available. It was just a sad room I wanted to avoid being in. Those factors will keep me from ever returning. The mismatched furniture was old and tired Sheets and towels were clean and plenty of towels at least. Doors and walls are thin so I was awakened by loud talking outside my door. Coffee was a keurig machine behind reception. I didn't take the subway but it was nearby. This section of 32nd street is labeled Korean Way so if you are in the mood for good Korean food there are lots of choices. If you want another cuisine you'll have to venture further.

Great hotel with a couple minor issues
I stayed here for three nights in August 2024 and loved the location and the boutique feel of the place. Good: -Location in Midtown Manhattan -Modern and stylish -Rates were reasonable -Housekeeping -Comfortable Bad: -I arrived early and had to wait four hours to check in. That's fine, but I saw several other guests called up and checked in immediately when a room was available. Despite the fact I was sitting in the lobby just feet from the front desk, I was never called up when my room became available. Even tho I was the ONLY person sitting in the lobby. Finally, after 4pm I went up and asked if my room was ready and they seemed surprised that I was waiting for my room. It was frustrating because I saw several other groups before me who were given prompt attention when their rooms became available. But not once, despite me being the only one in the entire lobby, did they ever ask me who I was or whether I was waiting to check in. That didn't start things off on a good note. -My room was on the 8th floor, and unfortunately the window faced a brick wall. There was absolutely no view whatsoever. OK that's fine, some of the rooms are going to be like that. Just combined with the bad experience described above, that also didn't make a great impression.

The hotel was fine. One incident occured but was resolved swiftly. A leak in from the room above me had a leak and came into my bathroom. I was moved to another room and it was done timely.

Great stay, location, and rooms. Would definitely return. Early check-in wasn't possible, but it's never guaranteed, so I was fine with it. Though not overly effusive, staff were helpful and accommodating with checking bags, restrooms, pointing to quiet area to use for meetings, etc.
