Avoid!!
The worse experience ever! Booked for 5 nights but left after one night. Paid cash when we arrived. Luckily we were able to have the refund for the rest of the staying but no refund or compensation from the hotel for the horrible night we stayed. We felt very uncomfortable. The hotel is so old, from entrance to the rooms. The staff at the desk , Tom or Tim, not very pleasant either. The room was noisy, cold and very old. Very basic, just an uncomfortable/noisy bed,a very old wardrobe and a chair (not even an hairdryer or a desk, or doors on the wardrobe). We raised our concern about the noise and we asked for an hairdryer (unsafe). The room didn't have a working radiator, only a tiny fan, it was minus 10 that night and there was not even a blanket ,only a thin blanket. We freeze all night, we had to wear many layers but still cold (the window wasn't closing properly either).

Great location, but missing the basics
Helpful staff, but the bed felt like a cardboard box and the pillows were similar. We had to but a couple of Target pillows just to have a chance at sleep. Great location, clean, and helpful staff, but even little things missing like towel racks and a soap rack in the shower made the experience poor.

This hotel is place that I would reccomend for someone who is not going to be inside a lot. I stayed here for 4 days and generally felt safe. Surrounded by a hub of food and the fast pacedness of downtown, it for sure is a good place to settle down as a home base while on a vacation. Some things to note, however. They are very strict on check in time and check out time. I arrived 30ish minutes before my reservation and had to wait which is understandable but also showed how last minute that preparations were being made. Also, I felt very uncomfortable as first as to only being able to pay for the reservation in cash. I asked for a receipt to make sure I was able to have proof of my stay in case something happened to my luggage while gone.

This is a great place if you’re on a budget and want to see New York City. It’s clean, staff is great, and it’s in a prime location close to the subway or bus lines. We had a great experience here! The restaurant downstairs is 24 hours and had some of the best breakfast options and pizza! There is no elevator and some pretty steep stairs. It is also cash only! We would definitely stay here again for another quick trip!

Great Hotel for the price! Central location in Manhattan, near NYU. Besides seeing 1 roach when we arrived it was bug free. You can smell them thou from the drain which is something to be expected in an old building

I was very anxious before coming. It’s really what you pay for it was only $150 a night. It’s got a nice history behind it and the area is perfect. I did feel very safe in the area. The men on the lobby are lovely and housekeeping came every day. Rooms are old. And the beds aren’t the most comfortable but as I say you get what you pay for.

70 steps to my room there is no elevator. The faucets were leaking and the one in the shower was loose( sometimes scalding and without adjusting cold. There was no central heating it was obtained by a portable heater.
