We stayed at The George over a weekend visit to our son and his family who live nearby. The hotel is located in a residential corner of Montclair, easy walking distance to the Montclair Art Museum, Van Vleck Gardens, and restaurants. The decor is eclectic but cohesive and charming. We had a spacious corner room that was very comfortable and inviting. The breakfast offerings are excellent. The sitting room invites lingering with its gas fireplace, comfortable seating, and games. We are likely to return in future.

Great location! Convenient to many shops and restaurants within walking distance. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful and went above and beyond making our stay extra special. Impeccable service. You will not find a better staff! So accommodating and helpful. However I prefer a hotel. This has more of a bed-&-breakfast vibe, which is not my cup-of-tea. Bathrooms way too small and the walls are paper-thin, so you can hear conversations from other rooms.
