Maple Lodge was completed in 2019 and sits at the corner of a lodge park, with trees to two sides and offering a peaceful location. Relaxing in the 6-person hot tub is just perfect after a day exploring this magnificent county, which was voted the best place to holiday in the British Tourism Awards. The park is set just inside the Northumberland National Park, a Gold Tier International Dark Sky Park, and sitting in the hot tub star gazing is a real treat.
Maple Lodge is just under a mile from a pub, and the lodges are popular with visitors who love to relax after attending weddings at the nearby venue of Le Petit Chateau. The nearby shop stocks some local produce and is handy if you forget essentials. The on-site restaurant (open weekends usually) is ideal for a nice meal, otherwise the pub is always welcoming in the village. Maple Lodge is ideal for couples, families or friends who want to experience some country living away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
The location is ideal for enjoying water sports on Kielder Water Park or visiting the observatory. Situated only 16 miles from the Border Counties, Maple Lodge is also perfect if you want to visit Scotland. The borders are steeped in history all relating to the battles between the Scots and the English. Nearby Bellingham, 9 miles, has a few shops, a butchers and pubs. Hadrians Wall is easily reached, and the Northumberland Heritage Coast make a great day out where miles of golden beaches dotted with castles await. Visitors are spoilt for places to go with so much to do in Northumberland. While you are in Otterburn make sure to visit Otterburn Mill, a great outlet for outdoor wear with a little café and some mill history. Shop and pub serving food 1 mile, restaurant on-site (limited opening).
