Good position as not in centre of Newcastle so easy to get onto main roads for Allwick Castle and Beamish etc. Easy walk to the quay and various restaurants. Parking is limited and the alternative isn't great so parked at the Baltic car park which is very expensive but a lot safer and very near. The coast road going north is spectacular. Good breakfast, clean room and nice staff.

Very good price. The entrance and lobby is welcoming. Staff are friendly and hekpful. The room was clean and comfortable but not as expected. The furniture was tired and worn and all the walls had stains that appeared to be from a dripping substance. The lighting was very poor. The entrance is modern and had a fresh, clean fragrance in contrast to the room which was dull and tired.

Nice room, poor service.
Nice hotel, well positioned for getting into Newcastle. Nice large room, speedy check in. I experienced problems with the TV channels, apparently this is an issue hotel wide at the moment. Service at breakfast was extremely poor, waitresses spent all their time chatting, I asked for poached eggs as they are cooked to order. Some 15 mins later after I had finished my breakfast, I was told my eggs would be ready shortly due the chef being agency. Too late for me as I needed to leave for work.

Was really looking forward to this stay but was let down slightly! The images online make it look really nice but it definitely needs some refurbishment done. We got checked in quickly and before 3pm which was great to then get to room and notice that it hadn’t even been cleaned. Went straight back to reception where she was apologetic and probably a bit embarrassed but she told me that it said on the system that it was ready for us. She said we could go sit in the bar and get some drinks while we wait until 3 for it to be cleaned so we done that and didn’t mind. We then got billed £30 for 6 Smirnoff ice’s which is just a total rip off (£5 a bottle), especially after getting a room that hadn’t been cleaned. We then got assigned another room at 3pm which was fine, There was some bits in the room that needed refurbished, big dent in the dressing table and bathroom was a little rough round the edges but overall ok. Beds were very comfy which was the main thing I suppose. We then got woken up by banging from the the room next to us which was either noisey neighbours or the cleaners. I’m pretty sure it was the cleaners. Fast and easy check out. Overall 6/10

Enjoyed my stay here
It was my first time staying at this hotel and I really liked it. It’s in a nice and quiet area. Very close to the metro station, 10 minute walk, and the city centre. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again in the future.

When we arrived at the hotel, we found the parking lot full, we parked at a parking lot opposite as it wasn't to far away. The gentleman that checked us in, made us feel like an inconvenience, I mention the parking to him and he gave me a sheet of paper and said to park here instead, as the one we're in is expensive, rooms were ok, smelt a little funny. We moved our car to the car park suggested as it was £16 for 72 hours, to find this was a ten minute walk from the hotel, this was incredibly inconvenient considering my partner is on crutches, which he didn't want me walking back on my own with it being dark. We had a lovely weekend, but we wouldn't stay at this hotel again due to the parking and just general cleanliness.

Worst hotel I’ve stayed in
Worst hotel I’ve stayed in. Thought Leonardo hotels were good until I stayed here. All the things wrong about this place: - The room was filthy and musty. Just felt like I was breathing in dust the entire time. - The AC didn’t do anything to cool the room - The bathroom was horrendous with stains all over the sink and bathtub. - The toilet seat was basically broken - There was muck and scratches on the ceiling of the bathroom. - The curtains did nothing but let light into the room - You can hear everything outside the room There is definitely a lot more wrong but these were the main issues. However, the staff here are great! Despite the nastiness, the staff whom I have met were helpful.

Trip up North
Very good, this is the 4th time I’ve stayed at the hotel, either for work or leisure… only downside there was a queue for breakfast this morning (10/08/24) seems everyone one left to the last minute and there wasn’t enough seating, although there was seating available in reception we could take food out to sit in reception to eat…

So close to being fantastic
It’s a beautiful hotel in a beautiful area if the quayside. The comfort was high standard although the negatives possibly aren’t their fault. Many noisy people throughout the night banging doors and talking walking past my room. I didn’t sleep well but maybe if I did come back, I’ll wear noise cancelling headphones
