After a long day of traveling we were looking for some rest and relaxation with quietness. We were met by a DJ playing loud music and an air conditioning unit that when turned on sounded like twin turbine engines. Every time it turned on through the night it would startle us causing us to wake. Not a very restful night.

Lovely setting with amazing view. Service was excellent- especially Ant at check in. Beds were comfortable, but the roommates was dates, despite lovely view and good Bed. Doors to bathroom would not fully close and kept opening. And faucet in shower was very loose, took forever to get temperature correct and to get it to stray without turning too cold or too hot. Great potential, room just needs some tlc.

the gentleman that checked me in (Ant) was lovely and super helpful. the entrance was not really easy to find. the room was fine. Ant did hook me up with a waterview. The breakfast was terrible. Really oily omelet. The waiter was NOT friendly at all. He hardly acknowledged me and was just generally rude. Overall, the hotel was NOT what it was presented to be online. The location sucked too. I paid way too much.

I arrived when the Sunday beach party was ending, so the check-in area was buzzing with activity, and cars were streaming from the garage. It was very chaotic in the eyes of a first-time visitor, but the staff were very friendly, welcoming and maintained order and professionalism. Much to my surprise, my stay was super quiet, and visitor activity was low; the view of Hampton University campus and the waterfront are great to wake up to every morning. The hotel is showing its age internally. From the outside, it looks ultra-modern, but it is worn internally and probably needs updating (fresh paint, new flooring, etc.…). Due to its downtown location, I expected that there would be lots of local downtown businesses and restaurants, which did not seem to be the case. I did find a local Starbucks but did not see many local restaurants or businesses. Highway construction creates traffic tie-ups outside the hotel, so getting out of the Hampton area will be slow on weekday mornings.

Parking was inconvenient in a lot across the way with bo xovered access to get to it. Aesthetically the hotel was nice but the bathroom in the room had some issues that needed to be taken care of. The tv didnt work there was no picture only sound. And the air vent sounded like an airplane about to take off was a disruption the entire time.

The property was ok. The parking garage was trashed and smelled bad. The front desk staff was luke warm at best. The 8th floor smelled BAD! It smelled like mold. The room repairs where shotty. 3 star hotel for sure Location was perfect. Loved the view.ook
