The property is in private grounds , with its own drive and gates to the road for extra privacy. There are both rural and woodland views.
The ground floor is built into the hill and is available to book as part of the whole house or as a smaller accessible apartment. It has its own convenient parking area with rural views. There are two en-suite bedrooms and an open plan lounge/ dining/ kitchen area. The kitchen has an electric hob and oven, a fridge freezer, a dishwasher and a dining table.
The first floor of the house is available to book separately or as part of the whole house. It has its own drive, parking area and entrance. The outside areas surrounding the house have been landscaped with an extra patio and a wildlife pond. There are children’s games provided to encourage outdoor play.
It is approximately 15/20 minutes to historic Norwich city centre (park and ride nearby) it is close to the A47 for coastal visits and access to the many Norfolk visitor attractions.
The driveway to the house leads off a country lane and there is ample parking for vehicles outside the main entrance to the house. There is broadband provided.
The first floor of the property has steps leading up to the main entrance. It was built in 1960 and retains much of the decor of that time. It consists of 2 double bedrooms with large windows overlooking fields, a beautifully refurbished bathroom, a kitchen with freestanding fridge freezer, oven and hob, double sink, a dishwasher and a breakfast bar. There is a dining area leading into a large lounge at the rear of the house, an entrance hall and a conservatory.
From the upstairs bedrooms there are lovely views over the local countryside. The grounds are in keeping with the surrounding woodland. Only the area surrounding the house is maintained for use by guests.
There are two large patios for children’s games and outside living. There is a wildlife pond leading into the woodland. Visits to the pond by children need adult supervision at all times.
The property is situated close to the Norwich bypass and although there is always some traffic noise from the Norwich bypass, the bonus is easy access to both A11 and A47. Supermarkets and a retail park are within 10 /15 minutes. There is a golf club and a Fitness Centre nearby. The local village is within walking/cycling distance and boasts an excellent pub with a varied menu. A mill stream with a bridge crossing runs through the village- a favourite place for picnics on the green. There is a small primary school and a church.
The Bawburgh lakes are on the boundary of the property. Norwich is within easy access, about 15 /20 minutes to the city centre.
Plantation House is well situated for visitors to access the many attractions that Norfolk has to offer, from coastal resorts to stately homes.
Guests will find that Plantation House both upstairs and down, offers as much privacy as they may need. If required, it is possible with self-catering or supermarket deliveries when available, to stay in isolation.
We ask all guests to be vigilant regarding cleanliness. Our cleaning regime has always been meticulous, but we have updated our practice since Corona Virus recommendations. In return, we ask our guests to be stringent with cleanliness procedures during their stay, including removal of outdoor footwear when entering the house, frequent handwashing and wiping down of surfaces on a regular basis, particularly in the bathroom, bedrooms and the kitchen.
