* Activities *
Deception Pass Bridge (one of the most photographed!) and the surrounding area is a must to explore!
PBY Museum is really well done with the history of Oak Harbor AND there is a plane to see in real life!
Fort Ebey and Fort Casey (from WW2) are just a short drive away.
Historic Coupeville (the oldest city is Washington) is just 10 miles south.
Anacortes, on Fidalgo Island is fun to explore.
Port Townsend (on the Olympic Peninsula is a fun ferry ride (reservations are recommended for that ferry unless you walk on).
This entire apartment is yours for the entirety of your stay! You likely won't be seeing me and you may come and go as you please and with the keyless entry there are no keys to worry about losing! You might want to make a note of the code however. :-) Please make yourself at home and use any of the items that are there just for you!
There is a courtyard that is shared between 2 buildings (8 apartments) which has a table and chairs and plenty of lawn area to sit out and enjoy the mostly delightful weather! Take your lunch or dinner outside and enjoy an al fresco meal.
It's likely you won't see me during your stay, which allows you more privacy and convenience. However, I'm here anytime you need to reach out. If you need anything or have questions, just send me a message via Airbnb and I'll be quick to respond!
This wonderful apartment is just a short walk to the quaint 'downtown' area where you can enjoy the wine bar, antique stores, a variety of restaurants, boutiques, coffee house and much more. There are numerous parks to explore, all within walking distance and the harbor is a great place to take a picnic lunch out to and watch the boats (and wildlife) come and go. If you're into history, a 'must see' is to visit the PBY museum with an authentic plane right across the street! Find out how Oak Harbor was used during WW2!
Other sights a short distance away that are definitely worth checking out:
Deception Pass and Bridge
Fort Ebey
Fort Casey
Historic Coupeville (the oldest city in the state of Washington)
Anacortes (on Fidalgo Island)
Ferry ride to Port Townsend (reservations for the ferry are recommended) on the Olympic Peninsula
And... A new study from the National Council for Home Safety and Security released Wednesday named Oak Harbor as Washington's safest city.
The Safest Cities Report is an annual study that examined crime data from the FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting tool.
Now that's awesome!
A car really is a must for this area to properly see all the sights on the island and surrounding places. On the island there is a free bus (www.island transit.org). Uber and Lyft both operate here and of course there are taxis as well.
This is generally a quiet neighborhood but is also in an 8-unit apartment building with families so there may be the occasional get-together or just families having fun. Also to note; there is a Naval Air Station nearby and jets do occasionally fly over. Normally their flight pattern isn't right over the city and harbor but sometimes, rarely, they do. We love our flying sailors!
For those very special people that have allergies to any number of airborne pathogens! Should you require one, there is at your disposal a very high quality HEPA filtration air purifier that we can turn on for you several hours before your arrival to make sure that the air inside is completely free of those pathogens! Just be sure to let me know and we can get it all set up for you!
• Please take off your shoes when inside the home.
• The neighborhood’s quiet hours are from 10pm to 8am.
• Please turn off AC/HEATING/LIGHTS when you go out (except the front porch light so you can see when you come back!).
• Please close and lock all windows and doors when you leave the property.
• Visitors are allowed if they do not spend the night.
• Pets are allowed on a case by case basis ($125 fee).
• No smoking inside; you may use the parking lot/street.
• No illegal substances are allowed.
• Please separate waste from recyclables in the labeled bins provided.
• No food or drinks in the bedrooms.
• No candles or other open flames.

• Please only throw toilet paper in the toilet; there is a trash can beside it for everything else.
• If you break or damage something, please let us know and together we can arrange for its replacement or repair.
