OK, but not as represented.
Challenge 1 was communication. Not sure who ā€œSisleyā€ is. We used a number we were given via email to reach a Mr. Liu on a poor connection that made it hard to hear or understand him. He didnā€™t seem to have direct knowledge of what was happening at the property but instead referred to his property person. The property was in much rougher condition than the photos indicated. We werenā€™t given the key to the door-side gate. Using the sliding gate with the keypad meant going around the house or through the dirt yard with broken glass. Inside the walls, baseboards, and windows were extremely rough. We never opened the blinds because the windows were not pleasant to look at or through. A/C was via a standing unit in the dining area, requiring bedroom doors to stay open for cooling. Rm 1, behind the kitchen, had a door that couldnā€™t open all the way due to another old doorframe but also could not be closed all the way or latched. This was frustrating and disturbing. When I expressed our concerns on night 1 we were offered a cancellation if we left by the next morning, but we were unable to do that and chose to stay. The kitchen was nicely equipped but just 4 chairs. Bath towels were tiny so we bought our own. The property is a 12+ minute walk from the MacArthur BART station. We recommend walking MacArthur to Telegraph to 39th St to the station for a more pleasant walk. The #6 bus from MacArthur & Telegraph was closer and handy for getting to Berkeley or downtown Oakland.
