We have been to Ocean Shores many times, staying mostly in town. We loved this south location which is quiet, and the house itself feels very private. When we walked onto the dock, we were greeted by a few otters swimming. Our little dog enjoyed the yard, and we walked her in the neighborhood and on the beautiful Weatherwax Trail. We discovered the Oyhut Bay area with a bakery, brewery and other shops. I brought my kayak and had a great time kayaking Duck Lake. I decided to start from the boat ramp at Chinook Park because the house's dock is a bit high from the lake, I'm 70 years old, and I was concerned about how to get in and out of my kayak from the dock. No big deal, as Chinook Park is nearby, and I may be a whimp because I saw many similar docks with kayaks sitting waterside. There are so many canal trails you can kayak, and the lake is huge and a lot of fun! The house itself was beyond our expectations, with a lovely view, super fully stocked kitchen with what looked like quartz counters, many games, lots of TV choices, outdoor seating areas and a comfortable King-size bed. The owners provide many thoughtful amenities, including large baggies for your leftovers, and a bowl with items like Swiss Miss chocolate and packets of trail mix. Truly, they go the extra mile. I'm already planning our 2026 trip to Ocean Shores and hope to stay here again. Peaceful, pretty, ideal.
