Pristine and Exclusive Bear Creek, w/ Private Pond

Winter and Summer.....Escape from it all in this large 5 bedroom, 4 bath cabin in the pristine and exclusive Bear Creek neighborhood, located half a mile mile below Alpine Meadows Ski Resort. This home's modern lay-out boasts two stories of glass windows with views of the slopes in the winter and of our private swimming pond in the summer. Surrounded by open meadows and solitude yet close to everything, this cabin is a reunion/retreat destination like no other. Our home is surrounded by 4 open lots that can never be built on! It feels like you went camping and brought a 5-BR house with you!
Our game cupboard contains tons of puzzles and games, and our sunken living-room and open-hearth fire place allow for families and friends to gather effortlessly.
In the winter, beat traffic with a one minute drive to the slopes, or cross country ski and make snowmen in the untouched snow off the back deck. If you dare, adventure one mile down the road to our local 'E' ticket sledding hill. Cold temps but low snow year? No problem. Bear Creek's pond transforms into a private old-fashioned skating pond. Bring some skates, ear-muffs, and your hockey stick and enjoy skating with no driving, nor admission price!
In summer, stroll out on to the deck and find yourself steps away from our private swimming pond with its' own sandy beach, Huck-Finn style rafts, and 'rock islands' to sunbathe on. You may never want to leave, but if you do the famous Five-Lakes trail-head is across the street, as are some of Tahoe's famous mountain bike trails. Two miles down the road find fine-dining at the River Ranch, Tahoe's best horseback riding stables, rafting on the Truckee River, and the world's most beautiful bike path- which runs along the Truckee River for 12 miles and leads you to beautiful Lake Tahoe and Tahoe City.
Winter or Summer, this cabin gives you access to the best that Tahoe has to offer. It is the perfect cabin for a single-family retreat or a large group get-away. The lay-out of our home allows for private and communal activities to happen at the same time. You can play hard, or relax, connect or disconnect, your choice.
Whether you are looking for adventure or solitude this house has it all.

Alpine cabin near Pond
Great location. Grandkids loved the private pond for swimming and paddling on the rafts. Very clean. Kitchen had all necessities. Wish there were screens on the doors so we could keep bugs out but enjoy the breeze on hot days. Living room furniture is not comfortable. Perhaps another umbrella and comfortable outdoor furniture would fix that issue.

Great home!
This home is great. The location to Alpine is impeccable. The free, on-demand shuttle service makes it even better/more convenient. There were plenty of board games as well as poker chips, which kept us occupied after a day of skiing. Beds were comfortable and plenty of fresh linens/towels for a 5 night stay. Would stay here again!

Beautiful vacation rental!
This was a perfect vacation home. The swimming pond and little park area were hits with the whole family. The house was super great… completely stocked! We just had to bring our food (but spices and many condiments were stocked already). Lots of space for meals, games, and plenty of beds! We had the best time 🤗❤️

Magical Pond
We were 2 grandparents, 4 adult children, and 4 grandchildren. This was everyone's favorite house in the 11 summers we have gone to Lake Tahoe. The neighborhood is a gorgeous place to walk, with incredibly beautiful houses and a lovely creek and waterfall. The house is not super updated but very roomy and comfy in the kind of way where you aren't afraid the kids are going to ruin something! The kitchen has all kinds of equipment, plenty of pots and pans, even blender and food processor. Deck was very nice and has view of the private HOA pond. The pond was the best part of all, just steps away from the house --- so lovely, surrounded by trees, very peaceful, and the children had so much fun with the Huck Finn rafts. House is also near to stables where the grandkids had fun riding horses and ponies. We also went on the aerial tram at Palisades, and the roller skating and snow up there was a big hit. Initially I was afraid house would be too far away from other places we wanted to go....Not at all! Took only about 10 minutes to go to the market in Tahoe City --- and our trips to Meeks Bay seemed to take only tiny bit longer than we stayed south of Tahoe City in the past. We look forward very much to coming back.

A spacious, comfortable home with a super well-equipped kitchen. There was room for several people to prepare food at one time while still being able to socialize with others sitting at the dining table. Close drive to town and activities. The sounds of the rushing snow melt was healing. We would highly recommend

very comfortable home in a great neighborhood
Spacious, well stocked, comfortable home. Wonderful neighborhood for walks. Beautiful views of the mountains. And so easy to go back and forth to Alpine Meadows for skiing. We love home cooked food, and the kitchen has everything you need to make meals for a large group. My lasagne was a bit hit this year! :) Our favorite place to stay in Tahoe.

Great spot, close to the Alpine Base
We had a great stay here. Easy to get to and from the Alpine Base as we had kids/parents skiing at different times of the day. Great family room to hang out in and a good backyard to playing in the snow. We'd absolutely stay again!

Amazing From Start to Finish
We had the privilege of booking this wonderful accommodation that slept 14 very comfortably for a weekend birthday trip that was one for the books. Lauren was communicative and thorough from the moment we booked even until after the booking to work with us in returning forgotten items. She was so kind and informative and her space was so warm and inviting. It was modern and had all the necessities for a retreat in the mountains. Would happily book again in the future and would recommend this to anyone interested.

Family Holiday Gathering
Our multi generational family spent two weeks at the Ross’s home and it was ideal! Large enough for everyone to have their own room and privacy, and a perfect gathering spot in the cozy living room with a warm fire. We also spent a lot of time in the well stocked kitchen cooking holiday meals and treats and sharing the meals around the large dining room table. The house is close to the mountain for skiing and the neighborhood is perfect for walks. There are also beautiful snow shoeing trails close by. We all felt very much “at home” and hope to return again for another holiday gathering in beautiful Alpine Meadows and the cozy Ross home.

Alpine Meadows Ski Trip
This house really felt like a home! We have come to this valley many times over the past ten years, and this was our favorite place - the kitchen was great, well stocked with utensils and spices and such, the fireplace was great for evening relaxing, and Lauren was very helpful when we got snowed in. The only downside was the lack of a garage (we received about 10 feet of snow the week we were there).

A week in paradise.
Excellent location perched up on the mountain a few miles from the hustle and bustle of Tahoe City but an easy drive to various beaches/access points. Convenient to I-80, Reno, Sacramento. Rafting/kayaking down the Truckee river is the main action in the immediate vicinity. A short trip to Squaw Valley and the wonderful Aerial Tram. A great launching point for Truckee and Donner Lake as well. Just don't eat your friends. :-). All ages will enjoy the neighborhood pond for relaxing, swimming, floating, SUP. Kids love it. Spectacular neighborhood offering lots of room between properties. The rental has a large deck overlooking a huge backyard with mountains in view. We didn't need AC or heat for our late July stay. They provide lots of towels, chairs, inflatables. kitchen supplies galore. The place is older than others in the neighborhood and not what you would call fancy, but my bed was great. We shared with cousins so it was not super expensive. It is one of the few handicap accessible places we could find. There isn't a tv in the main room, but we all sort of were glad about that in the end. The check in was awkward but Lauren ultimately got us situated. She is a very nice landlord. They have an above average bbq grill, coffee maker, dishwasher, w/d, etc. Not one of those places where everything is done on the cheap. Very courteous neighbors, nice parking. I would stay there again.

Amazing Place and Hosts! Cozy house with plenty of space, great for nearby mountains!
We had an amazing stay at this house. It is a great location, quiet and secluded yet only a couple minutes from Alpine Meadows mountain, about 10 minutes from Squaw, and 15 minutes from Tahoe city. The place was plenty big for our group, with beds for everyone, and also 4 bathrooms. There is parking for multiple cars, a great fireplace and firewood supplied. The hosts are super helpful, responsive, and kind, including leading up to the trip, throughout the stay, and at checkout. The (spacious) kitchen and other household supplies were fully stocked with everything we needed. There is a great deck. I am sure I am missing some other great things that the house offered as well. Would recommend this house and the hosts to all. The only issue we had was that trash only gets picked up on Mondays, so for a larger group staying Sat to Sat or Sun to Sun, the trash was more than the outdoor trash area could hold. However, as with everything else, the hosts were very helpful, and we were able to keep excess trash/recycle in the basement until checkout and worked with the hosts and cleaners to address it, so it did not affect our stay at all.

We had a wonderful time staying in this home over the New Year holidays! The home has great space -- great number of rooms, bathrooms, sitting areas. We were so impressed by all of the kitchen supplies and thoughtfulness of the Christmas tree that was provided in the home. It is a warm home and was great for our 11 people.

50th Birthday Weekend
What an amazing neighborhood! We absolutely loved being so close to the swimming pond! It was the perfect spot to relax with our friends while the kids (and some adults) played in the water and hiked around the perfectly kept grounds. The house was a great size for our larger group , and having 4 bathrooms was a treat. The kitchen was well stocked and large enough for a few people to prepare food at the same time, as well as a big dining table and “game” table for overflow seating. They have a Sonos system for music, games and lots of fun outdoor gear. Unfortunately, some guests didn’t sleep very well. The mattresses in the twin room really need replacing, as well as the squeaky bed frames. The bunks upstairs could use new mattresses as well and some repairs/tightening of the actual bunks. Upon arriving, there were a couple of broken and missing boards in the walkway to the house. We ended up putting a rug over it, so know ones foot went through. Also, the back deck has been replaced, but the bench around it is original and pretty flimsy with no back. The dining table was very wobbly as well. Overall, a great old Tahoe house in a beautiful area of North Shore! If these few things were taken care of, we would love to stay again!

Ross Cabin March 2019
We stayed at Ross Cabin for ten nights in March. The location was ideal for skiing and easy to get around using the shuttle system. We had between 5 and 12 people and 2 dogs staying with us. The cabin decor is a bit dated but quite comfortable and well appointed. The entryway provided ample storage space for all. A big plus, we were all able to sit at the table together to enjoy a meal. Parking was a concern with all the snow but we were able to park 3 cars in front of the cabin without any issues. This is an older cabin with a few quirks but it suited our needs very well. We had a great time and would absolutely stay at Ross cabin again.
