Had a bad start, room not cleaned but was done straight away for me. Went to have a cupper this morning but had no cups or milk in the fridge. Could not get the t.v. to work. BUT it was very quiet amenities where spotless and stocked, the meals are very good and cheap (dinner and breakfast)

Booked and paid for a room with full bathroom facilities Was given room 29 that didn’t even have a wash basin’s. spoke to bar manager who apologise and offered a discount I went back to the room and noticed a lot of what looked like baby cockroaches I googled them and I’m sure they were Bed Bugs. I went back and to the bar manger to say why I was leaving and he gave me a full refund Note:: I stayed at this hotel quite a few times about 5 years ago and had no problems

I paid for, but didn't stay at this property. I booked a room on Wotif, while on a work trip, happy to stay at a discount property as I actually like the "tradies and labourers" ambience of old hotels with shared bathrooms and friendly public bars. However, when I got to the hotel, the room I booked (private shower, shared toilet) wasn't available. So, they swapped me to a fully shared bathroom room. Opened the room's door, and there was somebody there already in bed. Not sure where the problem was, Wotif or the Royal, but they actually didn't have any room to book, but both Wotif and the Hotel thought that they did have. They gave me a cash refund and I found a room elsewhere.
