Enjoyed our family time, but......
The property was adequate for our needs and we did enjoy our time there together with our family from Canada and it's a convenient location to hit the wineries and breweries in the area. However, even though the house is cute, it is in need of a deep cleaning as the windows and screens were dirty, the stove was greasy and the floors need scrubbing. There's really not enough kitchen equipment to be able to properly cook meals. Like, pots, pans, plates, silverware, utensils. You couldn't have the air conditioners upstairs below 76 degrees, as there was a note in the kitchen that said doing so would cause the fuses to blow. The curtains in the upstairs front bedroom were old and starting to fall apart as were the shades. We couldn't enjoy the picnic table because the paint was flaking and peeling off. There isn't enough adequate outdoor seating for more than 4 people. There's a really nice covered porch on the back of the house but there is no patio furniture, so we had to temporarily move the patio furniture that was available from the patio area to the porch. It would also have been good to know that the State Facility across the street was closed and abandoned. It was a little creepy and depressing. A little TLC would go along way with the property.

Last Minute Family Getaway with dog
We found this dog friendly home, close to Senaca Lake and central to many attractions, a pleasant & comfortable stay. Desite the fact that the home is very old, the property owner has made updates, with appliances, air conditioning and some new furniture. The beds were very comfortable which is important when you're hiking and active. The kitchen had all amenties we needed for breakfast and packing lunches for our hikes. (We ate dinner out ea evening.) Lots of space for our mid size dog outside and inside the house which is a huge win since that's tough to come by in a rental. Downsides- The neighborhood is very quiet and seems safe but with the vacant institution across the street and some run down homes near by. I may not have chosen this property had I realized that. Floors are uneven and stairs steep, if you're older or have small children it's something to consider but was no problem for us. Overall, this stay was good experience. Thank you.

Great place to stay and location
Great location and price. Close to Ovid which has a nice diner, small grocery store, and walking distance to the state park and lake view. In addition the east side of the Seneca lake has plenty of winery options which start right there in Ovid. The dining room and living room were spacious, and kitchen had great counter space - appreciated the kerig machine.

Leash
I did not see the sign in the kitchen that said the dog must be on a leash and the lady next door went crazy. Other than that the trip was amazing and the dog stayed on the leash from that point forward.

Nice little house
This was an older home with character and was very cute. We were worried about how ā€œcoolā€ it would be with portable a/cā€™s and it being hot and humid but it was not an issue. They were set at 64 and the house was nice and cool when we arrived. The back porch was perfect in morning and evenings to sit outside and enjoy the bunnies and wildlife. The only thing I would have to say on the negative was that the whole first floor would benefit from having the floors washed or steam mopped. They were sticky and our feet and the soles of our socks were quite dirty from walking around. This is an easy fix. Unfortunately it was way too hot to enjoy the fire pit. Maybe next time. Comfortable stay.

Great place!
The house was VERY clean and comfortable. Plenty of room for four people and two dogs. Really loved the location because it was close to both lakes and lot of restaurants and wineries. We went to Ryleeā€™s Place down the street for breakfast one day and it was very good. Would absolutely stay here again!

Rommate Getaway
The house was very nice. There is a breakfast/lunch place just down the street in walking distance. We were confused about "Willard" and tried to find the town. Nearest real town is Ovid. Limited eating options there. At the end of the street is a nice place to see the sun set over the lake. House was just as pictured on the site. We didn't build a fire but wood and ring for outside fire was there. Would be great for kids with big back yard and play equipment. Stairs are sort of steep if that is an issue.

Could've been a lot better!
This was our 4th VRBO in as many years. I think this may have been the first that was possibly a managed property vs dealing with the owners on all aspects. The house is located on a street where you can hear the traffic in the morning. There's not much around the area, so you'll find yourself driving about 25 minutes to Seneca for a Walmart etc. It is located close to many wineries. The house itself is old and I get that, however again comparing it to the last three it didn't have that welcoming feeling. The other owners always reached out prior to, during and after to check on things, this wasn't the case here. I don't need babysitting, but it's a business and should be treated as such. I did bring up some minor issues with the home and quite frankly it didn't make much of an impression. You do need to bring everything if staying here as you'll find plenty of empty drawers in the kitchen. You'll have just the basics.

First time to finger lakes region and came to participate in IM event in Geneva, NY. Listing as advertised. Quiet area though not remote. Easy access to nearby state park and Ovid had all we needed. Older home but well kept. Easy trip to Geneva and we made a day trip to Ithaca which was also very convenient to get to. Lots more to explore. Had one issue with Keurig that was broken, but had wonderful assistance in remedying the problem. Host was very responsive.

Great spot, centrally located to wineries
Cozy... plenty of space for my wife, my mother and I. Plenty of dishes, kuerig coffeemaker, wine glasses. Beds were very comfy! Someone mentioned the drug rehab center across the street - it's closed, so makes for a great walk (there's a track that goes all around it). It's also a bit spooky, so it would be super fun at Halloween. The stairs are steep, but my blind mother was able to go up and down without issue. Good stay, I would recommend it. Close to Geneva if you want a town, and centrally located to some great wineries!

Annual Race Weekend Getaway
The house was exactly as described. Very cute and clean. All the linen that we needed was there for our entire group. We used the sleeper sofa which was more of a day bed with a trundle (both twin size), but was very comfortable. The house does not have central air conditioning but does has 'portable' air conditioning units, however if you have each unit running in all of the bedrooms it will pop the breaker. We got an extension cord and plugged one of them in somewhere else in the house and it was fine. It is an older house so the stairs are steep and not very deep to step on so be careful! The yard was nice and the covered deck was very nice when it rained. The location was convenient to all of the wineries that we visited and it was only about a half hour to Watkins Glen for the race. Overall this house worked out pretty well for our group. It would've been great if there was a toaster. A lot of times when we use a VRBO property there is always things like saran wrap, aluminum foil, ziplock bags, etc. There weren't any of those things at this house so be sure to bring some with you.

We really enjoyed our stay and this property. It was very clean, stocked well with linens, spices, complementary snacks, and cooking supplies. It has a nice back porch with swinging bench, spacious back yard and outdoor furniture. The decor was warm and inviting and it has comfortable bedding. We would stay there again. Not a Wine Drinker
We visited the Finger Lakes area to visit the waterfalls and beautiful lakes of the area. This home was a good central location to make day trips to all the local different state parks. I think we passed about 500 different wineries, so if youā€™re a wine drinker, this would be a good location for you too. Only a couple really small negatives about this property. No pans provided for in-oven cooking, stairs to upstairs very steep and difficult to traverse, and location across from a fenced/barb wired drug treatment facility.
