1850 Historical home fully restored with updated amenities for your convenience. The main house consist of 3000 square feet. We are a working cattle farm, most likely you will be able to see baby cows frolicking with thier moms. You enter via the back porch which does have 5 steps. The home boast a Full kitchen with a working fireplace, laundry room with dishwasher, washer & dryer. The living room faces the lake and river, and includes a working fireplace. There is the dining room with a table that seats 8 comfortably and another fold out antique table that seats four more. In the library you will find lots of great books to read, a closet full of board games, cards and roughly 150 Dvds for rainy days. Some CD's (feel free to play your own music) & a Half bath. Upstairs you will find my favorite spot, a downfilled sofa with a giant window overlooking the lake. The most cozy reading spot ever! The Heron room holds a king size bed, wardrobe, dressers, vanity and a reading chair. Full bath off of the master. (Roll away bed resides here and can be moved any where upstairs, this bed is counted when I state 15 guest!!) The Huntsmen room has an antique fullsize bed as well as a twin, chaise lounge and dresser. The Cozy bunk room houses an antique brass twin bed with a roll out trundle bed, dresser and closet. The Steamboat room has a full bed and antique twin bed, dresser and closet. Across the hall you will find the adorable full bathroom with a tub for our junior guests! Oh, I also keep a pack-n-play upstairs for your use (no linens). Note there is no satellite TV per our customers request. Right out the back door you will find the Cook's Cabin. This houses a new woodburning stove/air conditioner, new queen size bed, desk & chair, sofa, coffee table reading chairs and electricity. (I am including this space when I state 15 guests). Located on the Kentucky River. Boats welcome. You have access to free kayaks and paddle boards throughout your stay. There are wonderful marked hiking trails on 240 acres. Centrally located 1 hour from Cincinnati, Louisville and Lexington in Owenton, Kentucky. 24 miles from the Ark Encounter. Activities can include; corn hole, swimming and fishing. There is one fire pit with screen for cooking or making s'mores. There is a
20’ x 40’ pavilion with 8 picnic tables along with a wood burning grill located in front of the house on our 6 acre stocked lake. Fishing licenses can be purchased on line prior to your arrival. There is NO wifi at this destination. You can recieve phone calls and text from the backyard and pavilion. We encourage our guests to disconnect with thier everyday activities, and reconnect with each other, nature and ultimately God.
