The Telegraph Office Cabin, near Mercy Hotsprings.

About this space
Set on the site of an old town from the 1880's, now a working dairy farm, the "Telegraph Office" is a beautiful and comfortable escape to the charm and serenity of the country. The farm offers a unique opportunity to see where the best milk and dairy products are made. The farm enjoys some of the best sunshine in California, best night sky, mountain views, sunrises and sunsets. Relax, commune with the animals, birdwatch, hike, sit by a campfire, or whatever suits you.
The space
The building where this room is located was the original telegraph office and later the phone exchange in the town of Panoche back in the 1880s.
Guest access
Guests will be able to observe cows and goats being milked. This happens twice a day. You will also be able to see our calves being fed twice a day. Feeding of the cows happens at various times during the week and you may just be able to see that too depending on the length of your stay.
Other things to note
The natural aspects of this location are HUGE. This is a very diverse geological and biological area, there is world class birding, there are wildlife to observe, the night sky is fantastic and the climate is great. The wildflowers in the Springtime of a good year (like this) are incomparable.

There is no food provided. Bring your own groceries. The bar has pizza and sandwiches and is 5 minutes away. There is a charcoal barbecue available but no food prep place.

There is an outdoor fire ring and wood is provided for nighttime campfires.

Special farm tours are available, but there is an additional charge for this. Continental breakfast is included and a full farm breakfast is $20 per person if requested. Host will make breakfast to guests specifications using organic high quality ingredients. Host also provides raw cream, cheese and other items from Claravale Farms.

*There is one other guest cabin on this property that can be booked as well. In addition to, we have a larger home called The Ranch House, just 2 miles away
