Bangeston Barn was completely renovated from 2008-2012 and is the perfect location for a gathering of families, couples or friends. Dogs are more than welcome to come and stay too!
Although fully updated with all the latest technology and conveniences, our barn is at heart a traditional Pembrokeshire barn with stone walls.
We fell in love with this area many years ago and stumbled upon Bangeston Farmhouse and its adjoining barn in a state of disrepair. Four years later, after a lot of blood, sweat and tears (and a rather large beard!) we felt we had done it justice - treading a fine line between environmental conversion whilst retaining the historic beauty of Bangeston. This part of Pembrokeshire is a hidden gem combining breath-taking countryside and coastline, but remaining mostly untouched. We are now a family of 5 (including the dog!) with a passion for surfing, kitesurfing, paddle boarding, cycling and gazing at the stars (beer-in-hand) - all of which can be enjoyed in this area. Freshwater West is around a mile away and it's only a short drive further to the beautiful beaches of Barafundle, Broadhaven South, Bosherston, Stackpole Quay and Manobier - these beaches are also dog friendly all year round. There are also many miles of coast path to explore within the National Park - the Pembrokeshire Coast Path being easily accessible from Bangeston. Based in the countryside at the end of an unmade track, our barn is a beautiful, quiet and tranquil retreat after a day's activities. If you like a bit more hustle and bustle, the market town of Pembroke - with its magnificent medieval castle and numerous cafes and shops - is just 15 minutes away.
Bangeston Barn has 2 bedrooms and a mezzanine area sleeping 7 in total. The living room leads to the master bedroom (up 4 steps and with a king size bed) and also to the second bedroom which has a bunk bed - a double on the bottom and a single on top. The mezzanine sleeping area has a double bed and is accessed via a bespoke ladder with handrail. This space has restricted head room.
The family bathroom is on the ground floor with a toilet, washbasin, bath and overhead shower.
There is a hand-fitted well-equipped kitchen, with oak worktops. The kitchen is equipped with an integrated dishwasher, fridge/freezer, gas oven and hob, microwave, coffee making facilities, nutrininja blender and washing machine and hopefully all the utensils you need to enjoy your stay. It leads into an open plan living and dining area which comfortably seats 8. The barn is heated with solar panels, a wood pellet boiler and underfloor heating. There is also a cosy wood burner surrounded by 3 sofas. Entertainment includes a TV with built in DVD, sound system, board games, books, DVDs and a basket of toys for young children.
There is a south facing lawned garden overlooking the ancient woodlands of the Angle Estate, a Weber charcoal BBQ, portable wood fired pizza oven, Slow cooker, large Ninja Air Fryer and various areas outside to eat, drink and enjoy the sunshine at different times of the day. Some garden furniture is also provided.
We have done our best to create a stylish, well equipped and comfortable home, although we really bought it because of its special location near the dunes, surf and sunsets of Freshwater West.
If you like a hike and great food visit the award winning Cafe Mor an old boat/cafe that sells lobster burgers from the carpark at Freshwater West.
Thank you for looking and reading this far!
