This former cobbler’s cottage is in a fantastic position opposite Petworth House and Deer Park. The cottage, arranged over three floors, has been carefully rejuvenated with love and attention to detail and beautifully furnished to a wonderful standard throughout. The lower ground floor (accessible from inside and outside), features a spacious country kitchen/dining room, a utility room and a shower room.
The ground floor offers a formal sitting room with sofas and an open fireplace. With the beautiful Shimmings Valley a stone’s throw from the cottage and with Petworth House and Deer Park just across the road, this is a perfect walking and dog walker’s territory and the cottage allows 1 small dog only. This is an ideal cottage for families however people with mobility issues may find the house a challenge as it is spread over three floors and outside steps from the parking.
With a short walk into Petworth, the cottage is ideally situated to access the local restaurants, bars and coffee shops. The Petworth town centre is a mere 5-minute walk away with its fair share of coffee shops, restaurants, pubs, art galleries, and antique and boutique shops.
Over the road is Petworth House and Deer Park, a 17th-century stately home now owned by the National Trust. It also has a beautiful deer park for wonderful country walks and a great coffee shop. The cottage is just a 10 10-minute drive from Cowdray (the Home of Polo) with a farm and coffee shop. The Weald and Downland Living Museum (location of the TV show ’The Repair Shop’) is 20 20-minute drive away and is also dog friendly. Arundel with its fairytale castle, is 20 minutes drive and well worth a visit.
