The BunkHouse at Piney Woods is centrally located between Telluride, Ridgway and Ouray on a 10 acre parcel which also houses the main Family Cabin. The Family Cabin is occupied by the owners/caretakers and is situated across the driveway from The BunkHouse. Just west of the Dallas Divide Summit, the property is easily accessed from CO Hwy 62.
The property is quiet and secluded near the end of the road, amongst a mixture of 5 to 40 acre parcels making up the surrounding "neighborhood." There are walking trails around the acreage and along the gravel roads in the subdivision. Property is forested with Ponderosa Pine, Douglas Fir, Gambrel Oak, and Aspen, as well as many wildflowers.
Mountain views are of Hayden Peak, North Pole Peak, and Mount Mary. Wildlife are seen on the property and in the neighborhood. The property has horse shoe pits, corn hole boards, and a sandbox and swing set for children. It is a dog-friendly place. The BunkHouse at Piney Woods is a NO SMOKING property, inside and outside.
The BunkHouse at Piney Woods is 510 square feet with one bedroom/living room combo; wood stove; separate kitchen with dining table and chairs; full bathroom with shower; private deck with forest view. It accommodates two people with one queen size bed and possibly a child on separate sleeping “bunk”. Guest parking is located directly in front of The BunkHouse. There is no cable or satellite TV, but Internet is available. A flat screen TV with built in DVD player is provided. The kitchenette is equipped with dishes, flatware, cooking utensils, pots and pans, coffee pot, electric kettle, microwave, toaster, hot plate, refrigerator, slow cooker, toaster oven, kitchen linens, and paper towels. Guests should plan to bring their own food, drinks, refreshments, and personal toiletries. Bath and bedding linens are provided.
Situated within 30 minutes or less of Telluride, Ridgway and Ouray, The BunkHouse is remote but still makes it easy for festival goers and visitors to access nearby sights, shops and dining. Guests can easily enjoy the great outdoors of the San Juan Mountains by means of hiking, mountain biking, 4-wheel drive excursions, fishing, hunting, photography, etc. The BunkHouse provides an ideal retreat for persons seeking peace, quiet, and privacy in a beautiful mountain setting.
