It is beautiful, clean and right on the beach. We had a small issue with our hot tub and we could not use it after the first day but it 100 degrees outside and we were next to the ocean so we didn’t really miss it.

Mi hijo se enfermó despues de comer demasiado en un restaurante (no del hotel) la noche anterior y me ayudaron con hacer el check out mas tarde, llame a room service y les dije que me serviria un te de manzanilla con jengibre, como no lo tenian me mandaron el de manzanilla con pedacitos de jengibre natural! I did not have a happy stay at this resort for the following reasons: Unfortunately during our stay the elevator was out of order and we were given a third floor condo. There are (3) sets of stairs for each floor. With me advising the front desk I have Achilles tendinitis and sciatica back pain I was not offered a room on a lower floor. The master bedroom has a balcony with yellow caution tape due a broken or railing needing repair so I was not comfortable utilizing the balcony. The chairs/cushions on the beach as well has by the pool are worn out, terribly stained and in desperate need of replacement. Overall due to the above issues I would not recommend to stay as there’s no regard to your health or safety. Pictures are provided.

I enjoyed the condo. Only complaint was how small the fridge was. You can only fit a few drinks. We thought it would be full size and we ended up buying groceries.. sadly not everything fit but that’s on us. Everything else is walking distance! I would come back to this beautiful condo. There are boats on the beach but you literally walk to your right 30 sec down and the rest of the beach is clear and nice.

Overall good. Great location right on tbe beaxh and very xlose to the nightlife. We had no water for around 24 hours and our bathrooms/toilets we not cleaned for all 5 nights stay. Not many sun beds if you wanted to relax at the hotel. Staff nice and helpful. Overall a good stay with only a few gripes.

The property was amazing. The desk staff was always helpful and knowledgeable; the other staff members were also excellent. The beach was literally a few steps from the hotel pool. The clean and warm sea was great for relaxation. The only complaint is the smell in the room, which is noticeable when entering. It is the smell of a humid, poorly ventilated, moldy chamber (almost like a dungeon). The same smell was in our clothes when we returned home and opened our suitcases. Fortunately, after the first wash, it was gone. I recommend El Taj as a desirable choice for a family vacation.

This is a very charming hotel/ condo. The staff is very helpful and ready to help. The only downside is that the building ( not on the water side) does not have an elevator. Im surprised but tit was quite a task to bring up and down the stroller for my kid every day and the stairway is a bit long and steep. However i still give it 5 stars.

My and family and friends loved El Taj! The staff was welcoming and extremely accommodating. Check-in process was easy and fast. We had a horrible check-in experience at another Playa del Carmen hotel earlier in the week, and were so pleased with how we were treated at El Taj. Definitely recommend to anyone going to Playa. So many restaurant options and shopping within walking distance, and 5th Avenue is extremely close, about a 3-4 minute walk.

Accommodations were clean, spacious, and appealing. Exceptional bed comfort. Staff was accommodating and friendly. The only thing I did not like was the limited beachfront which was further impeded by the boats docked there. One advantage of the limited beach is that it's more peaceful around the hotel. However, if you walk a short distance to the right, past what appears to be a wall there is much better beach access all the way down to the ferry pier. I would absolutely stay here again.

Poor property mqnagment stay away!
Was excited to spend my vacation in Playa del carmen. However, this place turned out to be a poorly runned Property elevators were broken almost the entire stay. The power went out! Needless to say, the couch in the living room had cigarette burns, and it smelled like sewage in the entire place. When we went to check out, the rude receptionist told me I wouldn't be getting my deposit of $250 dollars back because we damaged the washer and dry. We only used the washer to put the 3 beach towels she gave us as she made it clear that we need to keep the beach towels and return them at check as we would be charge $25 per beach towel if not return. She never offered us the option to replace towels with fresh ones until we had this incident. Stay away from the beach. There is nasty as well.
