Luv La Pasion

I have been coming here on and off for 15 years. Yes, many services have changed from what they used to offer, however, the staff has always been terrific and a pleasure to deal with and they are one of the main reasons I keep going back. The location is fabulous, 2 min walk from 5th ave, clubs or bars with live music or from local cheap, tasty restaurants, one of my favourites, El Fogon for tacos El Pastor. Dona Paula’s for her pozole soup, omg…so good! There is also a new taco place El Nero right beside the hotel. I did not try it but it was busy every night and really….so convenient. This place is simple, down to earth, cute balcony’s pool side to contemplate life, overlooking to small pools with overgrown vegetation…. I mean luv it , and an adorable house cat that picks her own pool side chair, depending on her mood…. Depending on the room you get, sometimes the water in the shower is “cool” as opposed to hot. I’ve been a single traveller my last few visits but have always felt safe staying here on my own. This is one of my favourite hotels.

Fantastic Hotel

Cannot say enough good things about this Hotel and its staff. It was clean and the Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The location cannot be beat as it is blocks from the beach and in the heart of town. I for one will definitely return.

It was a wonderful experience—a convenient area with a beautiful hotel and great service. The hotel's arrangement is very pretty with all of the tropical trees, and the balcony is very beautiful. The morning breakfast is highly recommended especially if added to the booking ahead of arrival.

Things I loved : location - you're 2 blocks from quinta avenida (if you like touristy, party and shopping scenes); 3 blocks from 8th avenue public beach and fusion beach club (an inexpensive, chill and very enjoyable beach option with chairs, umbrellas and delicious eats); you're within 5 blocks of truly exceptional local eats like : el fogon, el charco de las ranas, doctores, don luca, Aradias Licoreria y Cafe, Yum Yum, Liquid Prana; you're a block away from a city bike station: we downloaded the app and took an enjoyable ride north to 88th ave beach and Punta Esmeralda : the ride and the beaches were both 10/10; you're also across the street from the plaza that can be enjoyed foot or as a vista from the lovely rooftop pool & hot tubs. hotel - the 3 pools, the hot tubs, the lush gardens throughout, the medieval decor, the staff, the cleanliness, the coffee and tea station, the cookies, the 2 libraries, the bed was comfortable, the room size and layout was just right, the balcony, the quiet, that they started breakfast with fruit.

Great place to stay in Playa Del Carmen. At first I was worried about staying in a hotel not on the beach however La Pasion was much cheaper than the one overlooking the beach. At the end I am much happier of choosing this place because the one by the beach are much noisier and the beach is almost non-existent. I also found out that the beach around the holydays is super crowded and I ended up preferring to spend my relaxation time no the rooftop in the pool or in the hottub away from all the busy beaches. As far as activities we loved the Yal-Ku lagoon.

Excellent hotel for the $$!! Rooms are cleaned daily, reasonably comfortable bed and pillows, air conditioning (nice quiet unit), ceiling fan. Our room had a cute little patio facing the pool. Pools looked super clean, though we did not end up using them. Door staff on duty 24/7, very friendly people. LOTS of water flow (ladies with long hair will understand), which is rare to find in Mexico as far as our experience. Only downfall was the hot water ran out without fail for whichever one of us took the 2nd shower in the morning. Location is excellent - across the street from a park and short walk to join the chaos on 5th Avenue, yet far enough away the hotel is pretty quiet. We would stay here again for sure!

Fantastic Stay! Clean Rooms, Great Atmosphere, and Thoughtful Touches I had an amazing stay, The rooms were impeccably clean and comfortable, and the staff went above and beyond to make my experience memorable.! What really stood out was the hotel’s warm New Year celebration—they offered complimentary shots to ring in the New year, which was such a thoughtful and fun touch! Inexpensive stay. Upper deck is amazing. Room was nice and clean. Front desk services were nice. Breakfast was connected to the neighbor restaurant very cheap and convenient. But the pools, hot tubs, and entrance lobby lacked cleanliness. Elevators were under maintenance. Lots of stairs so not recommended for anyone handicapped.

The rooms are small and poorly lit. There are very few plugs to connect a charger. The hallways are narrow and zig zag along the way. Generaly the common areas feel cluttered. The included breakfast is served so slowly that my wife went elsewhere and returned before her juice showed up. My fruit plate never showed up.

I was worried at first because I saw a handful of reviews saying they got robbed but I think it was just angry people trying to review bomb them.
