It was an amazing stay. The food was really good the staff service was incredible! The only thing that ruined it for me was they have a separate company offering massages and scamming people for $200. The hotel didn’t do much to stop this nor help which I did not appreciate at all. These people harassed and false advertised these massages but again this is just a company within the hotel. The hotel itself was Amazing !!

I was a bit sceptical at first when it came about service and food, but I really loved this place. Food was 9/10. Service on the other hand was great everyone was great and friendly. Tipping always helps get the best service but even when they didn’t know us yet as tippers they still did such a great job. I’m definitely going back.

We booked this to celebrate both of our birthdays and we wanted to have an entire week of relaxing at a nice beach but it turned out to be the worst experience ever for us. On the second day of staying at the resort, my partner got food poisoning from the food there, he was constantly vomiting and had to stay in bed for a full day being sick. Then a day later I got food poisoning too and same as my partner, I was throwing up and couldn’t eat anything for several days. My belly was bloated all the time and felt terrible. We paid a more for ‘privilege’ services and just the night that my partner got sick, we booked dinner at the privilege steakhouse, the steak looked grey and pale. We both had a bite and we had no idea what it tasted like but it wasn’t beef for sure. We couldn’t eat it. We had a butler and one day we left the Do not disturb sign or our door and the butler had the brilliant idea of giving us a ‘surprise’ which none of us asked for and went into our room, completely ignoring the Do not disturb sign, this was completely a violation of privacy! Also just a warning for anyone who wants to take the Resort’s Free Shuttle to Playa del Carmen Free tequila tasting. You will have to attend a 45mins Silver Jewelry presentation but they won’t mention that to you. Very Dishonest. We asked for a refund but the Resort won’t take responsibility for anything. We recommend you use your money somewhere else. Don’t waste it here.

The property and beach were beautiful. The room was comfortable. We liked how they had pool/beach areas divided for party or calm spaces. It was just the right size - a quick walk to get anywhere without feeling like you were cramped in with other guests. The staff were very nice, welcoming, and helpful. The food and drinks were good - the best meals were at the French and Italian restaurants. The only issue we had was when our airport transfer couldn’t come up the drive due to a bus stuck in the way and the hotel staff wouldn’t ride us down there on a golf cart. We had to pay for a taxi to the end of the drive! I’d still go back.

Pros: nice pool and beach areas. Activity/entertainment staff was great and made the trip very fun. Rooms were clean and staff did a great job refreshing them daily. Cons: guest services staff was not helpful and we encountered multiple issues on the trip (key cards not working, reservations, power outage). One staff member would say one thing and then someone else would say another and it became very frustrating. There’s not many restaurant options and the food was decent but not outstanding. We were served raw chicken one night and that was very upsetting. Overall nothing ruined our trip but we did have a few annoying encounters I wish could’ve been avoided or handled much more professionally.

Ocean Maya is a lovely resort with gracious and attentive staff. Activities going on each day and evening. The rooms are spacious and well appointed in buildings of 8 units each. The grounds are beautifully manicured with several spots to take great photos. The restaurants offer nice selections. Bartenders pour a great drink and generously filled my yeti. The massages are superior and worth every penny!!!!! I will definitely return. Enjoy!!!

This is my 11th time returning to this hotel. Still I cant find a single fault. The rooms are clean and spacious and are maintained very well. I loved all the restaurants, thought the food was amazing, I’d like to make a specific mention of Octavio in La hacienda buffet restaurant, always so friendly and helpful. I thought the entertainment staff work tirelessly to provide a great time for everyone thank you so much to Vierly, gracia and Moses for all your effort. The staff in this hotel are incredible and cannot do enough for you. I had many great laughs with eber, Jony Diego, Miguel and Andres at the pool bar. At the lobby bar it was the same fun and welcoming atmosphere with Yovannetti, Ana, Jorge, Jesus, Octavio, and manuel. I also really enjoyed the sports bar and talking with Cristobal. From the moment I walked into the hotel to the moment I left I was made to feel at ease and again had another amazing stay. I’d also like to mention the staff at reception Carolina, Maritza, Mario, Daniel and Arturo who are so incredibly helpful. Finally I’d like to mention the bar management, ayusi and Rodrigo, they were also so welcoming with me and always stopped to say hello and asked if I needed anything. Thank you to all of you for making my trip another one to Remember, I can’t wait to return.

Great choice !!
Hotel was great , not too small yet not too large - food was fine and resort was very pretty and clean - employees were friendly - 2 things we can say on a bit so great bite was The Voice game show was a bit lame and nightlife ( dance / DJ) ended early like around 11 pm - otherwise other shows great especially the Mexican one and we Wouid for sure come back - Foam pool party was our FAVORITE day !

We had the best time at this resort for our week-long vacation. We got the basic package but since we booked through Expedia, we also got some privilege perks like a welcome bottle of wine, 24/7 room service and the ability to book reservations at restaurants on the app. The resort has 8 bedroom villas along the property rather than one big hotel which was really lovely. The two pools (party and quiet) are still close to each other and are right on the beach. There's also lots of seating on the beach with chairs and hammocks. The staff here are unmatched! Highly recommend.
