Great value near everything.
Good value for price. Located near Mamitas Beach Club and 5the Avenue. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast was included and buffet style or in restaurant. There is a rooftop bar. Pool also on rooftop was small, not lap poo. Gym was basic and a little under par. Over all liked our stay.

THE ROOFTOP POOL IS NOT HEATED!!! The property staff friendliness was inconsistent. The king size bed was weirdly small where my feet hung off. The handheld shower wand was broken. The service was really odd; we could wait for 20 minutes with a empty drink, but if we acted like we were going to leave the staff would sprint to us because the property has guests sign for a check (because they want a tip) for any food or drink received. Signing for a check was a reminder that even though the property is listed as an all-inclusive (with tips included) it is not. I always tip at all-inclusive resorts, but this seemed worse as the itemized food/drink prices were ridiculously high. For example, a coke was priced at 70 Pesos. For context, 5th Ave beer prices rarely exceeded 50 Pesos each. Not everything was disappointing. Some staff was friendly. Other staff only did the bare minimum then sneered at us. I've been to more than 10 all-inclusives in Riviera Maya and I'll never return to Reef 28 again.

We had a fantastic time at the reef 28. So glad we found out about it. The food and food options were amazing. We were in food heaven. The boutique has unique fabulous finds and the spa was wonderful. There’s also a hydrotherapy area. It’s also only 1 block away from a market street and 2 blocks from the beach. I will definitely recommend to others and stay there again!

Pros: Location is ideal. Room is very clean. Very confortable bed; not too soft not too hard. Mexican restaurant is very good. The drinks (in the all inclusive option) are very good at the Mexican restaurant. It was relatively quiet in the streets in this area. Italian restaurant is average. Wine included in the all inclusive option is average. Cons: The rooftop is very underwhelming. There is 11 sun loungers by the pool. Eleven…for a hotel with 150+ rooms. They put some tables and stool chairs instead of sun loungers. Very uncomfortable. There are so many VIP sun beds that you can’t use… Pool is cold. Alcohol served is not good quality and I couldn’t get a margarita that doesn’t taste like syrup. Rooftop is a real disappointment.

The Reef 28 was my choice for the perfect reset and relaxing stay. The room is nice and clean and very spacious.The restaurants were tasty for dinner, the breakfast was average, the spa is a must. The hotel is clean and staff are attentive. The beach is just a short distance away and the shops are walking distance. Book now!

Very good hotel! The area around it is a bit loud so if you like quiet it might not be for you but the property, rooms and staff are amazing!

For our first time in Playa del Carmen, we couldn't have asked for a better hotel. On one side, you have the beach access within a 2min walk and, on the other side, 5th ave is less than 2mins walk. The rooftop terrace has beautiful views and a proper vibe since you have people from outside the hotel that come to party. The dining options were top notch! We found ourselves dining at the restaurants of the hotel more than on the strip because of how good it was. I highly recommend getting the all-inclusive meals drinks, well worth your buck. Overall, great experience.

Unfriendly staff. Unhelpful, not all floors have ice machines, key cards didn’t work on 3 occasions and needed to be preprogrammed, front desk unwilling to exchange dollars for pecos, bartender unable to take card or pecos fortunately I dollar amounts small enough. Wi-Fi into not available in room has to go back to front desk. No conditioner in bathroom. Hotel was clean and large but that’s about it. Not worth the money or hassle. You are better off at the cheapest hotel that way expectations are easier to meet.

This boutique hotel is well kept and beautiful. The staff is kind and they don't really bother you for much which is something we really liked.

Don’t stay here if you’re single and like to mingle. The first night I brought some company back to my room and was stopped in the lobby and was told I have to pay 100 usd even though she wasn’t gonna stay. I found another hotel down the street but this really ruined my trip. First trip in ten years and first time to Mexico. I lost a lot of money changing hotels being all inclusive and they new hotel was not. They could have said maybe this place isn’t for you. And offered refund. But they didn’t. They refund small portion but it was very unfair. Don’t stay here if your solo period!

Great adult only properties. Really enjoyed the rooftop. Waiters were friendly and did a great job at bringing us drinks in the pool. Restaurants were great. We got access to the other coco resort for different food options and access to the private beach. Great experience overall.
