We were looking for a conveniently located place from which to visit friends and family in various spots around the area so we didn´t intend to spend a lot of time at this rental. Which is a good thing because it isn´t very charming or inviting. The back yard is not landscaped and cheaply outfitted with what looks like Ocean State Job Lot furniture, and while it looks out on the bay the view is so overgrown that you can barely see the water. The porch outside the lower level entrance was covered in weeds, with an uncoiled garden hose for decoration.
Inside, we found hairballs in the closets and hairs in one of the beds so we stripped and washed all the (polyester) bedding. Not really what you want to do first thing after a 16-hour overseas trip!
The decor will be appreciated by all lovers of the Christmas Tree Store aesthetic. All the curtains on the lower level are way too long for the windows, and hung from cheap tension rods that came down every time we tried to actually open or close the curtains.
Also, don´t be fooled by the piano in the pictures - it isn´t there, and we brought our sheet music for nothing.
Lastly, the owners expect guests not just to strip the beds and start the laundry (which would be fine) but also to wait around on their departure day until it is dry and then fold it and put it back in the closet. I think that is a bridge too far - this is a vacation rental, and one pays for cleaning, after all.
On the plus side: functional kitchen, laundry.
