Great position for walking to town
A little upset in that the photos of the en-suite bathroom were not quite what they seemed. Very very tight and smell coming from the drains. Coffee machine didn’t work, villa felt like it wasn’t really ready for guests. Tiny pool towels, only 2 chair covers for pool chairs, pool edge was green. The outside shower didn’t work, grass wasn’t cut. There was a dead rat in the garden and cats outside crying night and morning. As I’ve mentioned just felt like it wasn’t really ready for guests. Plus note that air conditioning was great, the outside table was great for sitting under and washing machine was good. Private parking was a bonus too

Perfect location in a lovely resort
We really enjoyed our stay in Podgora. The Villa has excellent outside space with a great terrace and the best pool we’ve ever had! The pool got the sun all day and was a lovely temperature. We had fun with the tide machine. There are stunning views of the sea and the mountains, plus ripe figs from the fig tree. We counted 119 steps down to the front, popping out next to Roka restaurant (very good and beautiful to eat right next to the sea). You can go right to the very pretty marina, and further round to Plisivac beach (our favourite, get there early for good spots under the pine trees, and try Bistro Luce for lunch). Going left takes you to the main beach where you have inflatables, parasailing etc. But still with a very relaxed quiet vibe. Lots of places to eat (we thought the food in 2 Monkeys was the best), including pancakes and every ice cream flavour. There were hardly any other Brits which personally we enjoyed! The weather was mixed, we had a bit of rain most days, and a few thunderstorms, presumably due to the proximity to the mountains. In between it was pretty scorching so we didn’t actually mind a bit of respite. And it does mean it is very green. We didn’t enjoy Makarska which we found to be quite down market compared to Podgora, and extremely chaotic in the evenings with constant busy traffic along the main tourist streets. We visited for the supermarket and found Plodine to be the best. We would definitely return to Podgora, which we loved, and we don’t think you’ll find another Villa with such a great private pool so close to the beaches and restaurants.

Grwat location, super villa, good sized pool. Near to the road, but a good compromise if ypu want to be walking distance from the beach and restaurants. Owners were very kind and helpful. Split airport is 90 minutes away

a home from home!
This is a nice, well equipped modern villa. It is well suited for couples or pairs of couples. Two nice size double bedrooms one with on suite. It is located at the top of hill (approx 118 steps) which may prove difficult for less mobile people. There is off street parking and the local beachfront cafes and restaurants are accessible if you need to use a car with parking at 10 Kunas per hour. (About £1) We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it.

Found it!
We chose Podgora this year, on account of bringing along our son and his fiancée, who both enjoy snorkelling. Podgora has a reputation for offering good snorkelling possibilities. And so we needed to find a nice house, and fell for Iva Pezers villa. And boy, did we find the spot we were hoping for! One step through the gate and we were blown away. The views over the Adriatic Sea in one direction and the Biokovo mountain range in the other is breathtaking. And inbetween, there´s this absolute gem of a house, with a glistening blue pool set among lemon trees. One hundred and twentyfive steps will take you down into Podgora centre with it´s many restaurants and cafes. Trekking back is slightly tougher, but hey - the stairs lead up to heaven, so what´s the problem? The house itself is immaculately clean and has everything you could possibly hope for with a well equipped kitchen and cool, airconditioned spaces including a beautiful sitting room and two spacious bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. Outside, there is a large patio that is quite problematic - it will have you thinking that you may want to spend the entire holiday there, under the gorgeous shades, instead of venturing out to see a bit of Podgora. The solution is to have looong breakfasts and coffee breaks before undertaking such adventures. We established a kind of rhytm along the way. It was much like the slow, leisurely pulse of the Adriatic Sea. We did that breakfast, and then we took to the beaches to the north, secluded and less frequented, had some nice snorkelling there, came back, had a shower and a dip in the pool, then back we went to the beach... It is a kind of life that one can get used too. And no house can offer a better backdrop for this kind of existency than this quaint and stunning villa. Unless you have a very good excuse not to or unless we have re-rented the property - go there!

Beautiful place in a beautiful country
We stayed here with our two young children and loved every minute. It’s in an ideal location with easy access to the Main Street/beach using either steps or a road (with pushchair). A welcome walk after a nice lunch or dinner. Pool was welcoming although the weather wasn’t warm enough to use it as much as we’d like! Overall, we couldn’t have chosen a nicer place to stay during our first visit to Croatia.

Clean. Good A/C. Nice pool. Beautiful view. Adored the old olive tree.
Two of us stayed 5 nights mid-Sept. Very relaxing. Went up the ladder to rooftop for wide-open views of sky, water, boats, and distant islands. Sunsets supreme, with a few gnats (bug repellent helped). The fruit trees are awesome, and add to the privacy. Rosemary growing on the patio was delicious in our baked chicken. Easy and picturesque 2-hour drive down Highway 8 to Mostar, Bosnia Hercegovenia, a doable day trip. Delicious burger at Clementine’s Pub on the waterfront at Tucepi which is next to Podgora. Also marveled at the tiny church of St George dating from 1311! Liked the quiet, peaceful way people hung out at the water, lying on the small pebbles. Not at all loud, enjoying the clear water, the sun, each other. Croatians appear to be lovers of simple joys. We flew into Split, got groceries at Interspar-City Center Mall there. Thereafter at Lidl in Makarska. Best to get provisions before you get to the house, so you can get on with pure relaxation. House already had nice “little touches” - shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, spices, coffee, plastic wrap, paper products. Just really needed aluminum foil, matches, and olive oil for grilling out (and the bug repellent). We are age 60+, only walked one time down, then back up, the hill taking stone steps into Podgora. Truly hot and exhausted by this, but between the welcoming pool and A/C, recovered nicely. Did not make it to Dubrovnik, but found the coastline south of Podgora absolutely stunning, and wished we’d given it more time. Thanks again for a vrbo that checked the boxes for peace and quiet!

Little gem
This lovely little villa is an absolute gem of a property. It is situated on the main Split-Dubrovnik road ( don’t let that put you off)but is only a short walk down steps into Podgora where you’ll find shops, cafes,restaurants, beaches etc and boats offering trips to the neighbouring Islands of Hvar,Brac and Korcula. The villa itself is tastefully decorated inside and very well equipped ( although I found the dishwasher didn’t clean very well) ( owner notified). The beds are really comfortable and there is masses of storage in each of the two bedrooms. Outside there is a lovely large table under cover from the sun with plenty of seating and the pool area is well equipped with plenty of sun beds. The pool is much larger than it looks in the pictures. It is worth noting that there are apartments opposite the villa and a walkway to the beach runs alongside so you are overlooked. However there are blinds by the seating area which is a very clever touch by the owners to minimise the intrusion. The owners are generally good at communicating and very kindly let us swap (at the very last minute due to a family crisis)a week booked last year for this year instead. We had a lovely week in Podgora and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the villa.

A jewel on the Makarska Riveria
A stunning property with a panoramic view. We stayed, 2 couples, for 10 days in early sept and were not disappointed. The house is well equipped, comfortable with everything you need in the kitchen and wifi with enough bandwith to stream movies. Great shaded outdoor area for eating. The pictures of the swimming pool don't do it justice. The pool is larger than the pictures suggest and is warm. Great to lie around the pool with a chilled glass of wine. 130ish steps down from peace and tranquility and you arrive at the sea front with shops, restaurants, bars, supermarkets and souvenir shops. You can swim almost any where and it is warm and safe. If you find steps difficult there is a road you can use. A high spec villa in seaside holiday town. A perfect combination for couples and families. Thank you so much Iva, We would love to return. Joe and Beth

Beautiful Villa and Pool
We so enjoyed our week in Iva's lovely villa. It was the most well equipped property we have ever stayed in and the pool and garden were pristine and much larger than in the photos. We had a lovely day in Dubrovnik and also went to Mostar in Bosnia to see the reconstructed bridge, it was a fascinating visit. Podgora itself has something for everyone and it was just a short flight of steps to the restaurants and bars. We saw the most beautiful sunsets every evening too- a perfect stay!!

Luxury villa
Very modern villa exceptionally clean with everything you could possibly need.The pool was just the right temperature and fun with the jacuzzi and tide machine.The outside space was particularly good with a big table and chairs under a canopy to keep you cool in the heat of the midday sun.Location to the beach was a short walk down about 120 steps.The beach had beautiful turquoise water.Plenty of shops and restaurants and various boat trips and watersports.The villa was easy enough to find , about 2 hours driving from Split Airport, also private car parking with security electric gates.Overall I think you couldn't find a better villa in Podgora with a private pool.

Beautiful beautiful villa!
I spent last week at this amazing villa with 4 friends. From the moment I booked the owner Iva was very quick at answering any questions I had and this continued through out the holiday. Iva even helped our friend book an apartment opposite so she could join us as the villa couldn't accomadate an extra person. The villa has everything you need kitchen is very well equipped with all the essential things. Dishwasher was great we used every day holiday time is precious no body wants to spend it doing the washing up! Plenty of clean towels and even a washing machine which we used also. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Loads of outdoor space and shaded area with a huge table to eat/drink. The pool was amazing so much bigger than it looks in the photos and the temperature was perfect not too cold! Few minutes down the steps brings you right to the beach, bars, restaurants and shops. Jet skis, para sailing, pedoles etc all available down there. Recommend banana bar best cocktails along the front and also live music. We took a trip out to the waterfalls which was lovely but be prepared it was very busy and we visited Dubrovnik which we loved well worth the the 2 1/2 hr trip. The only thing that could of made it better was air con in bedrooms. It was extremely hot when we were there so we went out and got fans which helped but that really is my only negative comment. This villa is in a fantastic location and we honestly had the best holiday and we will definitely be back! Thank you so much Iva!

Better than expected
The villa, contents and areas were well equipped and spacious. The outside area and pool were superb. We lived only outside. Fridge with icewater and ice were used non-stop. Communication were flawless and helpfully. Could have wished aircon with larger capacity if we have to point a finger at something but it was not a big issue. Podgora was charming with appropriate degree of touristic facilities and offers. Overall we loved it and find ourselves wanting to go back.

Clean and excellently equipped, in a brilliant setting.
Just left this beautiful villa, after our weeks family holiday. First time in Croatia and we'll be back! The villa is a really special find. We couldn't think of anything missing to enjoy our stay. The quiet location away from the sea front was great, yet 2 minutes walk down to the sea, shops, restaurants etc. We felt very spoilt with the fabulous private pool.

Perfect and stylish
A delightful home to enjoy just a short walk down the stairs to the promenade and the beach. Everything was perfect and we felt at home in this obviously loved home. Very stylish decor and cushions aplenty to enjoy lolling around the pool. Every attention to detail was made and we were very happy to have a visit from the poolman while we were there. Hosts were incredibly generous and responded immediately to a few enquiries we had. Highly recommend.

Lovely villa with its own pool, ideal for family holidays. Near beach and restaurants
We had a lovely holiday in your house. The weather was hot and sunny all week, the surroundings were beautiful and the villa was just perfect for us. We spent very happy days swimming in the sea and in the pool, relaxing and reading and enjoying our meals outside. We also enjoyed eating out and everybody we met was really friendly and helpful. Wonderful comfortable place so close to everything
We had a great week in Podgora and the house was so close to everything we needed. The house met all our expectations and we'd highly recommend it. The pool was great and it is also pretty much was secure with a safety gate. There is also a roof top terrace which was roasting hot in the midday sun but it afforded wonderful views once the heat had left the day. Shops, beaches, supermarkets, bars and restaurants were all a few minutes away. Podgora is a really friendly town and we were made to feel very welcome. Food and wine are cheap so we pretty much ate out for lunch and dinner. We headed to the beaches to the north side as they were less crowded and were in shade until lunch time. We loved sitting and watching the boat action around the harbour during cocktail hour and we would recommended pretty much every place for eating. Pogdora has something for everyone. Quiet and lively bars and a good variety of places to eat. Water sports and great snorkelling in warm water. Highly recommend this as a great place for a holiday. This is all backed up by the excellent villa which was really well equipped and very comfortable. Thank you. One of the best holidays we have had. #relaxing

Fantastic villa with superb pool
The outside space of this villa was fantastic - a huge shady terrace and lots of space round the pool. There was also a small garden, a barbecue and off road parking with an electric gate. Inside, the villa was really well equipped - everything had been thought of. The beach was a few minutes away on foot and there were excellent restaurants in the village. This is a wonderful place for a holiday.

Fabulous house in Podgora
Wow! We just got back from an amazing week in this beautiful house. It was everything we hoped it would be and more. Firstly the house. It is very well equipped with everything you need for a self catering break. We rarely ventured out as it was so relaxing swimming in the pool, reading on the terrace and BBQing outside. Inside is cool and quiet, with modern decor and comfortable beds. My boys adored the pool; their swimming and diving really developed over the week and we all spent hours in there! Having the sail over for shade is a great idea. When we did get out, the walk down to Podgora beach was easy, down some steps. The beach is perfect for snorkelling and we had fun on the inflatables and being towed around the bay on a Crazy Shark! The scenery is spectacular; huge mountains behind dropping away into the sea. Podgora was bustling with lots of things going on. We had two lovely meals at Roccos and enjoyed refreshing drinks at the numerous bars and cafes along the promenade. We also enjoyed watching the water polo match in the harbour. We had a day trip to Dubrovnik, which was a long drive but worth it. We will definitely return as there is so much to see along the coast, plenty of boat trips available to the islands, or simply to soak up the sun, relax and enjoy the wonderful hospitality of Croatia and the idyllic accomodation of the Old Olive!

Bester privater Pool und schönste Terasse in Podgora
Wir hatten einen wunderschönen, 10-tägigen Aufenthalt in diesem Ferienhaus. Insbesondere der sehr große Pool und die überdachte Terasse sind wirklich toll, die Fotos versprechen hier absolut nicht zuviel. Die Küche verfügt über einen sehr großen Kühl- und Eisschrank mit Eiswürfel-Funktion und ist auch ansonsten top ausgestattet. Was auf den Fotos nicht so deutlich wird ist, dass sie mit dem Wohnbereich zusammenhängt (offene Küche). Da wir mit einem Baby angereist sind, wurden uns sogar ein gutes Kinderbett sowie ein Hochstuhl zur Verfügung gestellt, was sehr hilfreich war. Insgesamt war der Kontakt zu Iva und Danijel sehr freundlich und unkompliziert (meist einfach schnell per Mail oder SMS). Wie schon in einem anderen Review geschrieben, sind die Schlafzimmer recht eng. Zudem klemmen die Türen bzw. sind recht laut wenn man sie ganz zuzieht (was gerade bei einem schlafenden Baby problematisch sein kann) aber diese kleinen Mankos reichen aus meiner Sicht nicht für einen ganzen Stern Abzug. Ich würde dieses Ferienhaus uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen und kann mir gut vorstellen, es erneut zu buchen.

Tolles Haus und Super Gastgeberin.
Sehr gut . Nur keine Kaffeefiltermaschine vorhanden. Haben uns eine gekauft. Stühle waren defekt. Wurden umgehend ausgetauscht. Elektoschalter für die Markiese müsste erneuert werden . Gastgeberin hat sich sofort immer um alles gekümmert. Sonst top.

Gepflegtes Haus mit Pool und Meerblick
Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Das Haus ist gepflegt und hat alles, was man braucht. Über einen Fußweg mit Treppen ist man in 5 Minuten an der Promenade und am Strand von Podgora. Im Juni war es noch recht ruhig. Uns hat es super gefallen, wahrscheinlich kommen wir wieder.
