One of the best things about the Mark Spencer Hotel is the staff itself. They're very nice and welcoming. The area is also walkable to most of the attractions in downtown Portland. Restaurants are easy to find. It isjust an overall enjoyable experience.

I cannot recommend the Mark Spencer Hotel in downtown Portland highly enough. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was greeted by the warm and welcoming staff who made me feel right at home. Their exceptional hospitality truly set the tone for my entire stay. The location of this hotel is absolutely perfect. Situated in the heart of downtown Portland, it is within walking distance of incredible dining, shopping, and entertainment options. Whether exploring the Pearl District, browsing Powell’s Books, or enjoying one of the many fantastic nearby restaurants, everything is conveniently close. What truly sets the Mark Spencer apart is the attentiveness of the staff. During my visit, I accidentally left an expensive electronic device in my room. I was frantic, but the staff quickly put me at ease. Not only did they locate the item, but they also went above and beyond to ensure its safe return. Their dedication to their guests is exceptional. Another highlight is the coffee. The hotel offers complimentary coffee around the clock, and it is not just any coffee it is brewed fresh from their onsite roastery. The rich, bold flavor made every cup a delight and provided the perfect pick-me-up for exploring the city. The hotel itself is stunning. Every detail is beautifully curated, with tasteful decor and art that reflects Portland’s unique charm. We love staying at Mark Spencer Hotel. We’ve stayed here many times as it’s out number one go-to. We can always count on a clean and spacious room, extremely comfortable beds with plenty of pillows, and very friendly and accommodating staff. They offer a complimentary daily wine hour from 5pm-6pm as well. This affordably upscale location is in walking distance to many restaurants, bars, entertainment venues and more. I highly recommend Mark Spencer Hotel for you and your loved one’s, you won’t be disappointed!

This is the WORST stay in my life. The stuff is beyond rude, not helpful, unprofessional. Upon my arrival, they gave me grief that I don’t have a card to pay for the stay. No one tried to help! And when my friend paid on Expedia they were saying that they probably won’t be able to find a room for me today anyway. When it’s been PAID ALREADY. Manager gave me the key finally without telling me what room # I have or how to get there and when I asked for help just just ROLLED THE EYES. Are you kidding me right now?? If you hate people so much don’t work in hospitality!!! And when I was leaving they were asking me if I’m sure that the room is okay and I HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY. What kind of question is that!? And they wouldn’t let me go before they GO AND CHECK THE ROOM. Beyond humiliating experience. I was about to cry before check in and after check out. Is it because I’m a foreigner and my English is not the best you decided to humiliate me?? Horrible horrible staff, my first time in Portland and the begging was awful because of your terrible front desk people. Shame on you. And don’t say it’s not your level of service, because there are so many reviews who I similar to my experience, I should have checked it earlier and stayed ELSEWHERE.
