We stayed here one night on our way up the coast. The building seemed old but was clean. The staff was friendly but not helpful when we asked about downtown Portsmouth. Breakfast was muffins, toast, and yogurt. Decent one night stay.

I didn’t realize this would be a basement hotel room. It had a musty basement smell. Bath tub was yellow. Window sills and most surfaces were dirty/dusty. Staff were lovely both at front desk and breakfast.

This Howard Johnson motel has been totally rehabilitated and renovated by the Wyndham people. It is in pristine condition, Virtually brand new. Decorated in a retro 1950s HoJo’s theme. The room was clean. The bathroom was spotless. The Hotel had a guest laundry. Overall, this was an excellent value. Would stay here again.
