Quiet, comfy guest quarters just three miles from Freeport!

The Freeport area has much to offer: shopping, parks, great restaurants, and a vibrant craft beer community. Within 90 minutes of here you will find beaches, parks, scenic towns like Boothbay Harbor and Wiscasset, and of course the city of Portland and the Casco Bay islands. Museums? The Portland Museum of Art is world-renowned. As is the Coastal Maine Botanical Garden in Boothbay. And there is the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath, and the Peary Arctic Museum in Brunswick. Whatever brings you to the area, the Turkey Ridge Guest Quarters is your perfect home base.

The quarters are built in a daylight basement, with tiled floors and lots of pine accents. There is a queen bedroom, a large living area with seating and TV, and a full bath. The quarters are private from the rest of the owner-occupied house, and there is a private entrance. This is the "woodsy" side of a house that sits on 8.5 wooded acres just a few miles from Freeport, Maine. Lots of birds and lots of nature. There's a small outdoor seating area. There is no kitchen, but there is a coffeemaker, microwave, and a small refrigerator.

Free secure high-speed Wifi, smart TV with Hulu and Amazon Prime Video. We have a whole-house standby generator. In addition to the queen bed, we have a fold-out single bed for an older child.

Guests remark on how peaceful and quiet it is here. There are no other guests, and we make very little noise ourselves (no mowing until you are gone for the day!). We travel a lot ourselves, so we know what travelers appreciate.

Access is limited to the guest quarters and adjacent yard. There is no smoking anywhere on the property.

An Enjoyable Stay
Everything was as advertised. The unit was both comfy and cozy. It was clean and manageable. The one thing to consider, and this is not at all a negative. The location of the guest quarters is around the back of the building at the end of a gravel path. If one as mobility issues - as I do - the walk from the driveway to the entrance of the guest quarters can be a challenge. Please bear in mind that this observation is unique to me. My wife had no difficulty with the walkway. Overall, we highly recommend this property.

There were many choices I could have chosen to stay. The place had great reviews and away from the beaten path but still near town. Wayne sent a message with local suggestions for dining and local attractions that made our stay very enjoyable. The place was as nice as the pictures and the woodworking was excellent. This property seemed as if we were the first guests ever staying it was so spotless and inviting. Anything we might have needed was available. Beautiful forested and garden surroundings made our stay all the better. We even extended our stay! Hosts Wayne and Kim were attentive if we needed anything but we wondered sometimes if they were around! They made sure we had privacy is my point! We hope this property remains available as we hope to return in the future! Many more times!

Good location about 20-25 minutes from Portland and close to Freeport. Great if you're looking for a quiet stay and make day trips into the city. Clean, and newly renovated with nice amenities. TIP: If you stay during peak travel times, make reservations (or put your name in early + walk around the city) whenever possible at restaurants, or you will wait at least 30-45 minutes.

Wayne was an amazing host! The place was super clean, quiet, and perfect for a couple’s weekend getaway. It had all of the amenities we needed. Wayne was very helpful and quick at responding. He even offered to make us cheeseburgers when we were hungry at 10pm! He is great. The property is beautiful and you can see the stars at night. Parking was convenient as well. Not far from Portland and Freeport. Would definitely recommend! :)

The Guest Quarters here are cozy, clean, and close to everything fun in freeport! My husband and I stayed here for 4 days/3nights and we have no complaints whatsoever. The owner, Wayne, is great with communicating, quick to help fix an issues, and if you need anything he made it clear to just ask him. We were comfortable and felt safe in this tucked away little den. *Comfortable bed/bedding *Working microwave *Working mini fridge *Working coffee machine *Clean bathroom/Luxurious rain shower head *Sitting area inside and out *Private entrance Stay here!
