Sambor Prei Kuk, as one of the latest UNESCO World Heritage sites, definitely needs to be finally put on Cambodia's tourist circuit (so far, it gets only a handful of visitors), and Dracaena Resort is hands down the place where to stay - it's in fact the only place in reasonable distance from the temple ruins, but it's also quite certainly the best accomodation anywhere between Phnom Penh and Siem Reap.
You're still in the jungle here (so no wifi and no hot water - the owner is producing his own electricity with solar panels), but as far as jungle locations go, this is absolutely a luxury resort: both architecture and furnishings are sublimely tasteful, the tapware is high-quality German, the property is a lush garden (the owner's primary passion is orchids, which he grows on all the trees throughout the garden, and gladly explains to his guests), they will cook excellent food for you (they even have a small menu to choose from), and you'll be taken fantastic care of - if you have no transport, the (Belgian born) owner will carry you around all day for a very reasonable fare.
You'll just have to be lucky enough to get a room at this desirable place: although they have two bungalows to choose from, they will only rent out one at a time (so two guests maximum at any given time at the whole resort!!), and not even every night (after a departure, the next night has to be free of any booking). So consider yourself lucky if you can stay here - this is hospitality at it very best.
